2 Ton Chain Lifting Block & Tackle Hoist Heavy Duty Load

GOOD VALUE FOR LIFTING ENGINES ,GOOD CONTROL.

Bought this to lift a new staircase into position as I was on my own.Very oily when removing from packaging which made a mess, need a lot of wipes to get rid of oil residue. Had initial issue where chain had jammed into wheel during transport I'm guessing but spent 10 mins sorting it out.Set it all up and was very impressed with the general quality. Purchased a bigger block weight limit that what I knew I would need thinking its going to be cheap and nasty but I needn't have. My timber staircase was about 250kg. Operates very smoothly and worked exactly as required.Not an expert on this sort of lifting tool but I think it is of exceptional quality for the price.

Not used it yet but it looks very sturdy. My only gripe is that the continuous chain has a black oily coating on it that comes off on your hands. A plated chain would have been nicer, Not dropping a star because I chose it and suspected this would be the case. May be worth paying the extra for a plated chain.

Exactly as described and on time delivery. Well oiled up to protect it from the elements.

Amazing for the price. Not likely to use it much now I've done the job I bought it for. But look forward to finding another use for it!

[Edited to add: I recently used this to pull a 70ft pine tree out of a pond. It took a long, long time -- most of a day -- because I had to rewind and reattach the chain repeatedly. But it did the job, and is in no worse condition for having done it.]I should say from the outset that I haven't used this to lift two tons yet, nor to lift anything over the advertised 2.5 metres. But my initial impressions are that it works fine, and it feels like it will last.The load-bearing chain is very substantial, and has a huge hook at each end. The operating chain is less sturdy but, of course, it doesn't carry the same among of load. Although this will be obvious to a person who is less stupid than me, the drum does not actually accumulate the chain as the load is lifted -- it just passes the surplus chain in a blind loop out of the side of the drum. This means that when the load is in a position other than at the top or bottom end, there's actually six chains coming out of the drum. This confused the heck out of me when I was trying to figure out how to work the thing -- but, as I said, it should be obvious that a ten-inch drum won't accumulate five metres of heavy chain, and it has to fall somewhere.You need to pull the operating chain about a yard to lift the load about an inch. That's a mechanical advantage of thirty-to-one, which is certainly sufficient for lifting a few hundred points. To lift two tons, you'll need to apply about 150 lbs of manual force which is certainly plausible, but not easy. As I said, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm certainly going to have to.One point to be wary of -- the unit is very, very greasy. Of course, it has to be; but don't unpack the box when wearing non-workshop clothes, as I foolishly did.

Everything seems to be fine. I've no complaints so far.

Exactly what I wanted. Reasonable quality product at a good price. Recommended. Would buy again.
