Why does the warning lable say " may have chemicals and lead" i get the chemical part but why would it contain lead?

It's actually the coffee content. Google coffee prop 65. This is a blanket warning required by the state of California. The chemical they are "warning" about is acrylamide, not lead. It naturally occurs in some foods when cooked at high temperatures, coffee being one. You can go on google scholar and see case studies on it. The chemical is not well researched yet, but in 2010 the nonprofit Council for Education and Research on Toxics filed a lawsuit against a handful of coffee companies and now they require the warning on coffee products. You can research and draw your own conclusions, but its not lead, nor the soil etc. Personally I love adding this to my already high caff morning coffee so clearly it doesn't bother me. With or without mushrooms.

Many reviewers say the # of servings are much less than what is stated on the package, so exactly how many servings does this actually make?

I didn't count but the container is very deceiving. When I opened it for the first time the powder was up to about a quarter of the container, maybe less. Great product but I don't understand the reason for that little issue.

Why the prop 65 warning?

For example, for reproductive toxicants, the level for warnings is 1000 times lower than the lowest level at which animal studies reported no reproductive health effect. A Prop 65 warning does not automatically mean that the product is unsafe. Lead and Four Sigmatic Products The Prop 65 statement you may have seen reads: "Consuming this product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm." Lead occurs in foods because of its presence in the environment. Lead in the soil can settle on or be absorbed by plants grown for fruits or vegetables, or plants used as ingredients in food, including dietary supplements. Lead that gets into or on plants cannot be completely removed by washing or other food processing steps. It is also possible for the lead to enter the food supply inadvertently through manufacturing processes. For example, plumbing that contains lead can contaminate water used in food production. Although lead levels in food are decreasing, it’s not possible to remove or completely prevent lead from entering the food supply[*]. In 2017, the FDA published a report on heavy metals in foods[*]. Not to scare you, but there are detectable levels of lead in many foods you love. That doesn’t mean they aren’t nutritious or don’t have functional benefits.
