The fabric is substantial enough to feel secure but thin enough to remain invisible under fitted clothing.One note about care: stick to cold water wash and avoid fabric softener to maintain the elastic's integrity. Not like shape wear- just stretchy and soft, all knit fabric. The waist doesn't pinch or pull. They are very comfirtable and are at a great price.
