Not a wooden spoon replacement
My fault, should have studied pictures closer. It's more of a serving spoon than a stirring spoon due to angled head. Given that, seems ok.

As good as stainless steel
I bought this to use with a non- stick pan and appreciate its rigidity: because the handle and shaft are in the same material, I can safely tap the edge of the pan without damaging it.
