Why can this not be used with ssri's?

The reason we advise against consuming Kin if you're taking antidepressants is because the amino acid 5-HTP is a precursor to serotonin, which the body breaks down into serotonin. Antidepressants like SSRIs (among others) work by making serotonin more available in the brain. Too much serotonin can be harmful. We strongly advise speaking with a healthcare provider to learn more about this before trying Kin if you are currently taking antidepressants.

Can you smell this on your breath like alcohol?
