Grundfos 98950216 STR2 - 1.5 Bar Twin Impeller Shower Pump

Had this for years now still working does make a bit of noise but better than the one I had before . Top tip buy Matt Draper-30743-300mm-Vibration-Absorber cut it in half and put underneath the motor reduces vibration noise and cheaper than buy a purpose made sound proofing Matt . As i am gravity feed was not a problem when I had a bath but shower head being higher up was hopeless until we got this .

Despite what other say here on the reviews this pump is very good, it is also very quiet,.I was almost put off buying this due to some reviewers stating it is noisy in operation, well let me clear this up now, the pump is very quiet, i have replaced a stuart turner pump with this and the sound level is worlds apart, it's easy to install, comes with the flex hose pipework and one thing that worked out for me was inlets come in at one side with the angled flex hose, fitted this worked for me better.My only regret is i didn't buy one years ago.Just one thing to be aware of, don't get caught out thinking the pump is faulty.When i first installed it would not fire up, i primed it etc but no go, i was all set to send back then i thought i would try just try having it plugged in and turned it upside down to make the flow switches work and sure enough it cut in.Obviously this is just a test without it being connected to the water supply to see if it works, but only do briefly as it could damage with no water to cool and lubricate it, and hold on to it tight.I hope this review helps, bit long winded but i am genuinely impressed with it, and in case you think i have a connection with Grundfos i can tell you truthfully i don't.

This pump works well and is extremely quiet compared to my old grundfos. Good value for money and quick delivery.

The pump is average in noise, slightly on the higher pitched side. Unfortunately failed after 2.5 years with manufacturing fault, as the resin on the rotor came loose and damaged the stator winding, causing the electricity to trip the house. Spoke to Grundfos and they didn't care or want to discuss as over 2 years old.

Good price and fast delivery for a good shower pump. Apparently quite easy to install. It is a bit on the noisy side, but easy to live with that as the pump has made a significant improvement to our shower.

We had a £60 pump from B&Q for 4 years, we had nothing but trouble with it, the hot water pressure kept dropping off and dying right out so you were constantly reseting the whole thing by turning off the shower lever, Turning the shower back up to hot max to blow all the air out then back to cold to get the Hot/Cold ballance right.All this time i blamed myself for installing the pump incorrectally and didnt think it was the pump untill it finally gave up the ghost and i needed to replace it.But it wasnt me as this new pump is PERFECT, its quite, holds the water pressure at all times, never looses temperature and is a totaly differeent exsperiance.What a breath of fressh air. My wife is exstreamly happy with me :)
