Just buy it. After exhaustive searching, this (much cheaper) unit is an incredible value, putting a $2,500 Blaze unit that recently failed to shame. It's fast, carries a ton of ice, makes solid cubes, and keeps up during a heavy day of entertaining. At a thousand+ dollars cheaper than big brand rivals, this thing is just a smart buyWhat I wish I knew:* 1/4" quick connect adapter: for some reason, the unit arrives with a 1/2" quick connect (QC) adapter. If a plumber ran your water connections, he likely installed a 1/4" ice machine line. Bypass the 1/2" adapter and run a quick connect direct from your 1/4" water line (thread) to the unit's (QC) tubing* Casters: unit is light but has trouble sliding. Buy mini-casters to make maintenance a breeze.* Maintenance: buy ice machine cleaning solution now, and don't forget to clean the lines every three months. Also, if you're a weekend warrior and only need the unit for family BBQs, dry the unit out after every use and place a DampRid canister to avoid mold* Low profile pump: the water outlet (drain) is painfully low to the ground, so unless you have a perfectly placed floor drain, you'll need a low profile pump. As a bonus, the caster will give you the extra height you need to drain efficiently* Protection plan: buy it. The unit is operating well, but these new 'brands' are here today and gone tomorrow. I wouldn't count on the company being around in three years to support a warranty* Start early: ambient temps make a real difference in the unit's speed. If you're in Florida, Texas, or other humid places and want a full bin of heavy cubes by lunchtime, get started early* Looks: if you insist on the heavy-duty look of real stainless steel, this is not it. The doors have a similar look, but it's not the steel you may be used to from more expensive, pro-style units* Shopping list recap: 1/4" (thread) X 1/4" (QC) adapter, mini casters, ice machine cleaning solution, low profile pump, and protection plan

Very happy with this machine .It makes huge quantities of ice very quickly .Ice comes out in sheets instead of individual cubes . Very easy to break them up by hand or with a gentle tap with an ice scoop.Wish there was a holder for the scoop as it can get buried under the ice.It is rather noisy when producing ice but not really bothersome, also,it makes ice so quickly,that unless you are constantly removing ice,much of the time it is silent between cycles.The ice bin is removable for filling coolers , etc.which is a nice touch that my old Kitchen Aid machine did not have.Water connection is a 1/4 inch push to connect type fitting. I would prefer a standard 1/4 male fitting so a braided steel supply line could be used, but there is no way to do this. In general I don't trust these push in fittings to hold up over time.That said, I am very happy with my purchase. The price of under $ 750.00 is a real plus . it is easy to spend over $2000 for under counter machines some of which are that are actually inferior .

Water supply very good, plugged in and powered on - NO ICE. Contacted the seller which tried to be helpful, however, we are not mechanics; Gloria wanted us to take apart the unit and try replacing the pump. Now we are returning the unit after I spent $25 for adapter parts for the water supply, and after spending about 3 hours trying to figure out a fix. What a waste of time and money.

As others have stated very simple dependable ice maker with one weak spot.The pump they use is literally an aquarium water pump and doesn't have any lift capacity at all. My drain is about 18 inches above the drain levelWe teamed it with another external pump and replaced the drain lines with a stiffer reinforced plastic line as the Internal lines are very fragile and soft.Works great now and makes ice like a champ!Customer service is awesome they did work with us to troubleshoot and sent replacement parts

I have owned 3 different commercial ice makers, and replaced all 3. This ice maker has the simplest design of all and is very well built as I had a chance to look inside to see the fit & finish. There was an initial leaking problem from the drain water tank which is easily accessible by removing the back plate on the machine and then removing 2 screws. There was a nut that was cross-threaded onto the discharge hose so it would leak before the pump could be engaged, so what should have been an active pump within the drain water tank was never turned on. The fix was simple. I put the nut back on correctly and sealed with silicone. Problem solved. I waited a week to ensure no more leaks. It works perfect. Customer service contacted via email was responsive and gave me enough information to fix it. Once we figured out what it was, it took about 10 minutes to fix. They compensated me for my time and effort. It works great making a very large amount of ice in a very short time (fills a very large bucket over night). Unlike my other ice makers, this one does not run all the time to make the ice. It beats the other commercial ice makers in the house in both speed and simplicity. I would purchase another one if my other machines break.

I have had this icemaker for a little over 1 month now. The unit works great. It makes ice quickly and the ice stays for a long time. The only issue is the ice is made in sheets and you need to break it up but For the price and value you can't beat it. The installation was simple and straightforward and looks great. I had an issue with the shipping and had to contact the company and their support and response time was great!

Makes a LOT of ice, and fast. But that’s where it ends. The ice, even on the longest/hardest setting is not very dense. Also, the cubes are all frozen together when discharged from the tray, requiring a LOT of pounding with the scoop in order fill a glass. I would NOT recommend this item.
