High Quality
These are carbon steel screws, so very hard with a sharp drill head. They were Ideal for attaching a seal to a steel garage door without having to drill a pilot hole, as would be required with self tapping screws.. They went straight through the seal and steel garage door with ease. A good selection of sizes in a handy plastic divided container. Top quality.

Great value, Carbon Steel screw set
All-in-all this is a decent set of Carbon Steel self-tappers at a very reasonable cost. Carbon steel screws contain carbon as the main alloying element which adds to the screws strength and longivity (i.e. these are far better quality than zinc alloy). Always handy to have and thus a positive & recommended 4.5 stars!

I find that self-drilling screws are harder to use than traditional screws
Self-drilling screws may have their uses but for my purpose I find that fixing into timber is harder-going than a traditional screw - they require more forward pressure to get started and they "bite" deeper into the wood, requiring more forward pressure than usual to get to that "bite".I like the "truss" head - which I think is the term used for the wide head that looks like it has a built-in washer - it feels like the screw is well supported and will not sink into the wood like counter-sunk ones would do.They come in a plastic divided-section box with a good clip. The " dividers" in the case are not wonderful as they come away easily. A good range of screw lengths are included. As a screw, they seem well made - just not suited to my purpose, hence the lower score. If self-drilling screws are what you need, I don't think you will have a problem with them.
