Nice relic, great neck!
The guitar body looks great considering the cost it’s a great value. The roasted maple neck is also amazing with its stainless frets. The neck pocket was so perfectly snug, tight and aligned with the neck there was no need to shift or shim it. The cylinder truss adjust at the body end makes it quick and easy to set relief, no worries about stripping out a hex wrench nut. I work on a lot of affordable guitars and the fret leveling on this was basically perfect, I did some polishing but the action is low and it feels awesome. The pick guard was colliding with the bridge plate and the guard was actually prohibiting the trem from moving properly. The included trem has a small block and cast saddles, so I bought the $18.00 Guyker large block, bent steel saddle trem set from Amazon to replace it which was the only added expense to the guitar …and of course a new set of strings. I trimmed the guard clearance so the trem could move freely. Then I cut the headstock just for fun into a slightly shrunken *F* style shape and had an old damaged decal laying around so I stuck that on. There’s no tint on the roasted maple so using a clear finish blended everything right back together. Then relic’d the hardware, plastic and headstock to better match the body which comes with shiny new hardware and parts. All in all after a few mods it’s one of the best Strats I’ve owned. Pickups are ceramic single coils but are wax potted, non microphonic and true to the sound of a classic Stratocaster I won’t be changing them. The tuners feel and function great, no complaints there. The nut was actually bone which has an obvious scent while filing the slots. The trem now works perfectly in a floating setup and stays in tune. Probably could have done that with the original one, but I like the bent steel big block better for the looks and functionality of this instrument. I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. I saw a demo by Roger on YouTube Musicnerdstuff and that sold me on the potential of these guitars. Love it!

Pleasantly surprised
Truthfully I ordered this out of curiosity. The whole "relic" thing is not something that would normally attract me( why buy something made to look beat up? I've got the real thing already). But something about this guitar interested me so I figured I'd give it a shot. Very glad I did. Out of the box it played pretty well, although action a bit hi and frets gritty. I cut the strings off, took some light steel wool to the frets and used some lemon oil on the fingerboard restrung it, checked neck adjustment, which was fine, lowered the action, checked intonation(which was spot on), plugged it in and checked pickups, vol., tone pots, 5 way switch- all worked well. BTW the switch feels like a good one so do the pots. The guitar plays really well- I really like the neck(as advertised it is roasted maple) although initially I thought it was a bit "clubby" or a little thick. But the more I played it I found I actually liked it- alot-maybe even more than my Strat. "Feel" is such a personal thing but for me this one feels great- reminds me a bit of a Yamaha or Ibanez in its feel, but not exactly that either. Anyway it definitely feels like a quality instrument so I'm glad I gave it a shot- and for the price? The big name manufacturers (you know who you are) will be in trouble if/when people discover guitars like this for a fraction of the cost. BTW, the relic or "antiquing" is done very well and pretty convincing. If I didn't look at the head stock I'd think I was looking at a mid 60's well played instrument.

Incredible Guitar
I'm a Professional Luthier, quite well known as published Author and Columnist for Guitar Magazines, and a Builder of fine Custom Instruments. I ordered this guitar as a knock around for me to play with, to try out some new ideas and techniques for Guitar Repair. I found instead, a guitar that needed NOTHING! The stratocaster-style Instrument was built solidly, set up Perfectly right out of the Box! Roasted Mapke neck, stainless steel frets, wax potted ceramic single coil pickups sound quite vintage with a nice mid- range"snap". The Relic work is spot on,but the hardware is all new and shiny. I'll be aging the hardware to match the body reliving. The hardware is top notch, with Hipshot-style tuners are 18-1 ratio and quite smooth while staying in tune. The Roasted Maple neck has a nice slim profile, fairly standard with a not too big/ not too small feel and a matte finish feels nicely aged. The frets are Perfectly installed with no sharp edges or ends,no dents or dings, and they intonate Perfectly. I've played alot of Fender guitars that didn't have NEARLY as good a fret job! This guitar plays and feels like a higher end Instrument and the Relic paint job just adds to the vibe and feel. This guitar is SO worth the $200 it's not even funny!!

Impressive for the price
Quite impressed with overall quality. Totally usable out of the box. After about a month of daily use... The tuners are true gems, very micro, I was not expecting that. Would love to know the brand for other guitars. Frets were clean, required no attention. Fretboard had a weird top coating on it, I removed that carefully and resealed. Neck was straight, C-shape and comfortable. I like the neck alot as well. Had a little slag in the pocket, no biggie. The finish is not a laminate, they put some time into it. The body is very light. Some may not like this but I do. No head dive or weird weight issues. Pickups are playable but low output, like a Squire. I swapped them for a set of Ventera 50's and sounds amazing. Electronics work as expected, 250k pots but works just fine as is no plans to change anything else. First I ran some 9's but it feels and sounds best with 10's. Trem looks thin, but bridge seems solid. Intonated just fine. I have alot of guitars, old and new, inexpensive and pricey. This was to be a project/display guitar, but will now be the daily driver for this summer.

Nice guitar. Well worth the money.
Fast shipping. Very nice guitar. Sounds good, plays great. Not much needed in terms of setup. Now I am tempted to get the Telecaster style after this purchase.
