Quick setup. Fast and clear. Can be set-up without a PC. Beware if you use an EERO Mesh System!
4/17/25 Update: After a few months of use, the printer went into Deep Sleep and when it came out, my EERO 6 had blown it away. After several tries to reconnect it, I reset EERO power and was then able to re-connect to it. I then contacted Brother support and found that(A) Deep Sleep can not be disabled. Tech also sent me a link on "using dual band and Mesh networks". Found that(B) Brother doesn't do 5gHz AT ALL.(C) suggests that you use only SSID's that are 2.4 gHz ONLY.(D) They also say in the note that they "have no way of stabilizing their (apparently all Brother devices) wireless connection with EERO routers" and recommend using another. brand. BUMMER...My fiber service supplies only EERO's. I was on its duel band login but I had them set up a second login that is 2.4gHz ONLY. If this happens again, I will reconnect to that one. If that doesn't work reliably, there are cheap portable devices that will log into EERO's WIFI and then set up their own WIFI network (as a totally different login) I can connect the Brother to. Maybe that will work.Got a LOT OF PAPERWORK with this printer. Cards about phone apps etc. 3 different warranty sheets. I’ve set up a lot of printers over the years so I had faith that if I could connect it to my WIFI network I’d be done. The quick connect instructions (down loading the software as shown to the PC) had several options. The all wireless approach asked for a user and password. I tried several and couldn’t get it to work. My second try was using a USB cable. That worked great. The printer logged onto my WIFI. Green light came on steady. At least for the initial connection, It’s critical that you follow the instructions and RESTART both your computer and the printer. Power them both completely down. Then power up. The printer logged onto my router and when I looked for the printer on my MacBook Air, the printer was there and showing green idle. I also tried “add a printer” and it did so. I deleted the second one. It printed great. My IPhone also found it (both were logged into my wifi) and it printed from my lPhone. My wife’s WIN11 laptop also connected as expected. It’s not clear if this printer uses a chip in the toner cartridge. Some 3rd party toners say they have them. Loaded the Brother Connect app. Looks like it’s an alternative to using the PC & web site to initially install the printer. Would be good If I didn’t have a PC. Updated the printer’s firmware. Registered it and changed the password. It displays the toner level. Seems to be useful in that it accesses my iCloud files and I can print them from the app - all on my iPhone. However, it’s got lots of ads and IMHO is over-complicated to set up. But, today, more and more people have only a smart phone (no PC) so the app takes care of them well. The toner meter shows its full. If it’s correct, it means Brother included a standard toner cartridge, not one with just a little in it like most other printer manufacturers do.

“A Compact, No-Nonsense Printer for Everyday Use”
I recently got the Brother HL-L2405W Wireless Compact Monochrome Laser Printer for my home office, and it’s been a reliable workhorse so far. This printer is perfect for anyone needing fast, black-and-white prints without a lot of fuss or space.Quality and Build: The build is solid and straightforward. It’s got that classic Brother durability—sturdy plastic that feels like it’ll last, with a compact footprint that fits neatly on my desk. The paper tray holds a decent stack (up to 250 sheets), and the controls are simple, with a small but clear display. It’s not flashy, but it’s made to work, not to impress with looks.Performance: This thing prints fast—up to 36 pages per minute—and the output is crisp and clean, whether it’s text documents or forms. Setup was a breeze with the wireless connection; I had it linked to my Wi-Fi and printing from my laptop and phone in under 10 minutes. Duplex printing is a nice bonus, saving paper without extra effort. It’s quiet for a laser printer, too, which I appreciate during late-night work sessions.Value for Money: For the price, it’s a fantastic deal. You’re getting Brother’s laser reliability and wireless convenience at a cost that beats many competitors. Toner costs seem reasonable (especially with high-yield options), and for small offices or personal use, it’s an economical choice that doesn’t skimp on essentials.Minor Notes: It’s monochrome only, so no color printing—make sure that fits your needs. The wireless setup is smooth, but the app can be a bit clunky if you’re tweaking settings. Paper handling is great for standard sheets, though thicker stock might need manual feeding. Nothing deal-breaking, just quirks to know.Overall: The Brother HL-L2405W is a dependable, compact printer that delivers fast, quality monochrome prints with minimal hassle. It’s perfect for straightforward document needs and has earned its spot on my desk. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for value and performance—5 stars for reliability and efficiency!

Great Printer Once It's Set Up
This printer has been a solid addition to our home. I’ll admit, the WiFi setup took me a while—it wasn’t the most intuitive process, and I wish that part had been a bit easier. That said, once it was connected, it’s been smooth sailing ever since. What we really love is how everyone in the family can print remotely from their devices without any issues. Whether it's documents for work, school assignments, or random things we need printed—this printer handles it all quickly and cleanly.Overall, I think it was a great buy. If you're patient with the initial setup, you’ll end up with a reliable and efficient printer that works great for a busy household.

Was afraid to buy because of all the 1 star reviews
I was very reluctant to buy this printer because half the reviews make it seem like trash. But then after reading the reviews of every other printer, I realized that printers are basically all trash and so I was going to be taking a chance regardless.Anyway, this arrived the day I ordered it. I've never had a toner-based laser printer before but everything I had to do was really easy. I didn't even need the instructions (though perhaps I'd still suggest following them for some folks). It was all relatively intuitive. It took less than 10 minutes to plug it in, put the toner cartridge in it, add paper, and then set up the wifi.I set up wifi via my phone and it worked without any real issue. There were a few moments where I thought it wasn't working but it just took 30-40 seconds and then it was online. Then I went to my computer, pressed the windows key on my keyboard, typed "print" and hit enter. From there Add printer found this thing instantly and I printed my set list =DI'll update this review if the thing explodes (or just irritates me) later down the road. For now though, it went well and I'm glad I got it. The print quality was good (better than my HP).
