Your pictures and documents are secure with this hard drive it is portable and robust
I bought this external hard drive to clear off pictures from my iPad as I had slowed it down with accumulation of photos and videos and it was unable to function properlyIt was easy to use and fast and it was great to see them stored and safeplus not having to put them on (the cloud) for the protection and security reasons and for my peace of mindthat I have them and they are now safeI would recommend this hard drive for these purposesI have recently purchased a new data cable for the hard drive as I needed one that can clear off pictures from my phone and this has a different cable setting than the ones provided with the hard drive it is easy to use and is portable too

Rock-Solid, Quiet and Cool.
After experiencing unexpected failures over the years with both LaCie Rugged HDD and Samsung Shield SSD, the GDrive RTX has been a refreshing change. It runs quietly, stays cool under load, and has proven to be rock-solid reliable with heavy use. Unlike other so-called “rugged” drives, this one has never faulted me once. If you care about long-term data stability and peace of mind, this is the one to get.

Randomly disconnects every few minutes
I have several of the same model that work well but this one keeps randomly disconnecting every few minutes and is unusable.

It’s not ready to use out of the box
For Windows 10 and 11, it is not compatiblewithout editing in Disc Management to Delete the Primary (largest) partition, when it can then be added as a simple volume and a drive letter and then used as normal. Leave the smaller, left hand partition untouched, thoughOnce this, hardly intuitive action has been taken, very good - hence only one star reduction.

Externally robust, but still fault prone.
These drives initially seem great - the USB C port seems much sturdier than the usuall external hard-drive connectors, and the build seems strong. Of the two of these I've owned, one just stopped working after about a year, and the other developed serious faults after only a couple of months. In both cases, they started overheating, the transfer speed dropped from c.90MB/s to just 1 or 2 MB/s, and then they stopped accessing data properly at all. I hope someone develops a drive that feels as solid as this without being as fragile as this really is.
