Exactly as advertised
Everything is put together just as solid as my first Siwode (red/black handle with gold/black hardware and with bohi). The graphene hexagonal pattern on the blade (of this sword) has some texture to it, and it is as sharp as it can be, since it is painted. The tsuba and hardware all have a detailed dragon theme of antique-bronze color - none of it attracts a magnet. The dimensions of this "Blue Dragon Graphene Sword" are nearly the same as my first Siwode (10.5" handle, 28.5" blade, 13/16" sori, 2lb & 6oz weight), so the weight, balance and performance of this sword feel identical. The handle tang attracts the magnet all the way back to the last 1.5" (rear most menuki). The samegowa panels are not real fish skin, which is fine by me, but the striking blue color does catch the eye from across the room. The scabbard has a black-spackled, semi-gloss finish that doesn't show fingerprint smears. It is subtle, classy, and it fits the blade very well (physically and thematically). This scabbard tapers down towards the end - not as small as the JINLONGPAN scabbard, but a tiny bit more than the (standard sized) SHUANGSHI scabbard. The sword arrived in a form-fit Styrofoam box, just as my other Siwode was packaged. The blade was wrapped in plastic, the handle was shrink wrapped in plastic, and the whole sword was inside another plastic sleeve, all of this was inside that outer Styrofoam box.Siwode puts more effort and material into their wrappings than most other sword producers - and for those complaining about excessive wrappings (because that might seem wasteful), please recognize the sword did arrive perfectly sharp and beautiful as you would expect it to be.Other companies might add a certificate of authenticity and a sword bag (which are a nice bonus), but I would rather receive the pristine sword that I ordered, if I were to have a choice..Those skinny, inexpensive (4 or 5 bucks) shotgun sleeves work great as a sword bag. They can be rolled back down on their length so the elastic cuff indexes just above the tsuba. This allows the sleeve to hang on to the sword and scabbard, while exposing the last few inches of the handle for quicker I.D. and easier access.I am pleased enough with this Blue Dragon Graphene Sword, though I did notice the slightest (barely perceptible) bend throughout the entire length of it.I usually check the Siwode lineup for sale prices before I consider any other sword maker, because the value is undeniable, and they rarely disappoint - but so many of the other sword makers will.SHUANGSHI (red) has a gorgeous cherry red lacquer scabbard. The end piece of the scabbard is the "standard" size dimension - the largest size. The cochira end cap, fuchi collar and tsuba all have a tiger theme, with a rabbit (?!?..) on the blade side of the tsuba. The Shuangshi sword is the lightest weight Siwode that I own, at 2lb & 4oz.More 3-angle pictures should be taken of this katana because the current photos don't capture the color and theme as well as they could. The swirl-pattern on the blade is a rough textured grey that contrasts with the smooth/slick black surfaces. The grey, textured areas grab the cloth whenever you wipe it down.Overall, both of these swords are better looking than I expected them to be - sharp, tight, solid and great looking.JINLONGPAN (maroon) has a subtle, matte finish Saya that doesn't quite draw your eye like the glossy red Saya of the Shuangshi sword does. This Saya tapers down quite a bit at the tip - the smallest size of this group. I hadn't noticed this interesting detail until later on, but it is a notable feature that doesn't exist on any of my other Saya. The Jinlongpan has an eye-catching, high-luster black & gold colored tsuba, with black ito wrap over black samegowa. All of the hardware follows a dragon theme, and none of it draws a magnet, as most made today don't.The dragon scale pattern on the blade follows the same textured grey surfaces that contrast with the slick black surfaces, just like the other sword blades within this group. My Jinlongpan is the heaviest (2lb & 8oz.) sword of these choices here, measured with a Wheeler trigger-pull scale..It is a fine looking sword that is built just as well as the other choices here. I find the Shuangshi katana to be the most attractive sword of these 4 options, but you might prefer one of the others.

A Beautiful Piece of Craftsmanship
This Katana Sword (Fengwolongtan) is a truly stunning piece of craftsmanship, earning a perfect 5-star review. Here's a closer look:Handmade Quality: The sword's handmade nature is evident in the attention to detail. This is not a mass-produced replica, but a unique piece with potential collectable value.Sharp High Carbon Steel Blade: The 1060 high carbon steel blade is a testament to traditional sword-making techniques. Disclaimer: Please remember that a sharp blade requires proper handling and storage to ensure safety.Full Tang Construction: The full tang construction enhances the sword's durability and balance, making it a worthy addition to any collection.Important Considerations:Sharpness: As mentioned earlier, this katana has a sharp blade. Disclaimer: This again emphasizes the importance of proper handling and storage, especially if you have children or pets in your household. Not a Toy: This katana is not intended for use as a toy. Disclaimer: Katanas require specific training and skill for safe handling. Owning a katana is best suited for collectors, martial arts practitioners, or for decorative purposes.Overall Impression:The Katana Sword (Fengwolongtan) is a breathtaking display of sword-making artistry. The high-quality materials, sharp blade, and full tang construction make it a standout piece. Disclaimer: However, it's crucial to remember that this is a real sword and should be treated with respect. If you're a collector, martial arts practitioner with proper training, or looking for a decorative piece for a mature audience, this katana is a magnificent choice. Highly recommend, but with an emphasis on safe and responsible handling.

Ehh.. decently but inconsistently sharp. Mix and match of metals
Reasonably sharp, but not consistent on its sharpness throughout the blade. Definitely not razor sharp.Handle decoration looks good, but is a bit slippery.Personally, I'm not a fan of the three ornate metal decorations being all different while being in close proximity. This, in my opinion greatly cheapens the impression of the sword. It's like wearing gold earrings with pearls at the same time as a diamond on asilver neclace. The handle has a silver design/emblem under the black webbing. Then just above that is the hilt which is a weathered brass color, then just above that is a 1 plus inch swath of copper as the connection to the blade. At the bottom of the handle is another silver emblem near to the endcap which is weathered brass. The blade itself is a deep blue, with a gold honeycomb pattern and it looks cool. The sheath seems nice! But yet again, the sheath introduces a fourth metal.. a gold colored piece.Overall, I don't love it.I wish it was razor sharp, or at least uniformly sharp.

Surprised! Awesome Katana!
My kids are deep into anime, they love anything and everything common in anime from swords, to knives, to costume items, etc.I've been getting some katanas for my girls to display in their rooms. This looks beautiful and perfect for a girls room so I got it for one of them.It arrived way faster than expected, incredibly well packaged and packed in it's own storage cloth. The blade was oiled VERY well and is VERY sharp. I have shaken, wiggled and tried to see if there is any weakness or flaws in the construction of this sword and it's TIGHT, it's well assembled and it's beautiful. This is WAY worth the money and I couldn't be happier with this item. It's not only a gorgeous display piece, it could be used in self defense without issue. This is an amazing sword at an amazing price.
