No need to. It more depends on what you are looking to run in your system. Lc2i has main set of rca output(full signal) and sub output. Lc7i has 3 sets of Rca outputs that can be ran to amplifiers and signal/frequency adjustment made on amp.

There is an optional AudioControl ACR-1 bass control that is compatible with the Audio Control LC7i and for other select AudioControl processors
