There is very little to discuss about this device because it is so incredibly simple. It takes 4 AAA batteries and turns on as soon as you put the batteries in. It will count continuously as long as it does not get a return signal provided by the reflector, digging out the magnetic key to reset it is kind of a pain and I would prefer it to have a simple reset button, as customers do not tend to mess with it. Thus it is helpful to keep a log on an excel sheet to calculate the daily visitors to avoid unnecessary resets. I left it on every beam crossing count mode as that way in the excel sheet I could use other values to correct for the number of times that the same customers enter, leave and reenter the store rather than just dividing by 2. The magnetic key is also very well hidden in the package beneath the devices so make sure you do not forget it in the packaging.

Device began with accurate counts but now VASTLY overcounts traffic into the tens of thousands when at most there are 100 people.

Okay quality materials, functions well:This product is a great way to keep track of foot traffic moving through a store or other indoor area. The quality of the exterior materials is not the best, admittedly, as the plastic used is very light and just better than what I would consider flimsy. I also don't love the fact that its not rechargeable, although you can always use a set of rechargeable AAA batteries if desired. Despite the seemingly lower quality of the materials used, though, the product has so far functioned pretty well. I use these in a ~5 foot hallway and haven't had any issues with accuracy so far. The setup is pretty simple too as you can mount them on a wall in a couple different ways - I used the adhesive strips and they've held up just fine (an advantage of them being so lightweight). The count also displays right on one of the devices for easy reading/recording, and the reset tool has also worked well.Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend.

These are quite small, people likely don't even notice them on the walls. The small size and wireless nature of them also made them super easy to set up, literally one minute. Batteries are supposed to power them for a year, and even if it turns out shorter, it's still more convenient vs having to install wiring. Once set up, it keeps accurate count, unless you reset it. Which only the included keychain can do, which is a nice touch to avoid accidents. So far, it seems to be keeping very accurate count, I tried waving my hand and idling in front of the counter to see if it made a mistake, but it only counted once. If you need to figure out numbers for a business or project, these are a handy option. Very use to setup and use.
