Perfect book on decorating French style through a bourgeoisie American approach.
A stunning safe, perfect bourgeoisie and book in the grand manner of decorating in the French style. This is not a book on cottages, small apartments or rundown French farm houses. This is a book of very rather grand rooms in a beige straightforward chateau. Whilst the style is never hotel or matchy matchy the effect is safe versus overtly aristocratic. There are clusters of items and walls of paintings even photographs peppered amongst the typical antique furniture. It's French style through a somewhat American lens. That said it is never to West Coast California or bizarre in any way. Sometimes Grand chateau in France bring in a colonial effect, many colors showcasing the exotic. India, the Ivory Coast, Indo- Chinese or even Italianate effects. This job is straightforward and very livable never really going full out on the ideas which is refreshing if not a bit predictable. The gardens are photographed from every direction with the ariel shots are stunning display. Thus keeping the green focus outside, as a fresh and vital effect of countryside living. Inside the photographs are very charming and bright. The colors of light blue, biscuit beige, pale lemon are endless in this house. The three are somewhat overused in many of the decoration which can be a down point. The decoration is safe and traditional mixing sumptuous with breathability. The result is Timothy's "happy effect" he always brings to his decorating jobs. The stories and commentary are engaging without being cloying. The book is large, solid and is a perfect gift or excellent addition to one's library.

You Will Love This Book!
Whether you live in a one room walk-up or a palace on a hill, you will love this book! Timothy Corrigan has a down to earth approach to creating elegant spaces--comfort comes first! Gorgeous rooms in his city and country homes are a testament to both his design scholarship and years of experience. Though a resident for decades, he retains a humility and sense of wonder about the architecture and beauty of France. Every page is full of wonderful photographs that help guide us through Corrigan's design concepts. Unlike most designers, he willingly discusses his design errors and helps us learn as he explains how he arrived at solutions. This is an open hearted invitation to visit one man's way of life, and experience his passionate dedication to his homes and to France.

One of My Favorites
Out of all of the coffee table books I have purchased, this has become one of my favorites. I find myself flipping through it pretty regularly. Bright, beautiful photography and plenty of rooms pictured for inspiration with many easy to read descriptions that the author describes his design process. Well worth the money.

Beautiful
The book is so beautiful. The picture excellent and colorful.I just miss the part of the guest bedrooms that appears in the YouTube videos about the same castle. So the book is not about the all property, and in videos like “ Quintessential” YouTube channel and other publications videos, the guests bedrooms seem so cozy and pretty that was disappointing to buy the book and not could see it, and admire and detail all the rooms.
