Does the black side smudge off on tile floors?

In order to 'slide', the coated, coloured side has to be on the floor. You need the black, felt covered side on your feet for grip. Neither side comes off on the surface it's touching

It’s been a while since I got them .. but I think China..

I bought a pair of these in Dec, used them a few times on a hard floor, the plastic side has become so scratched they aren’t usable. Is this normal?

It says ,on the description of the sliders , NOT to use the hard (plastic side) on hardwood floors. That side is for carpets, rugs, etc. The cloth like side should be the side to use on hardwood floors.
