I recently purchased the Crucial BX500 4TB SSD and wanted to share my experience so far. 4TB SSD for just over $200, not a bad deal at all. Nice performance and great quality. No issues with the build, although I was surprise it came unformatted. Works like a charm and was a much needed upgrade. Would definitely keep it in mind for future SSD needs. Have used crucial many times in the past for drives and ram and have never been let down!

At first I thought maybe it was something wrong with my system, completely bogging, having terrible read/write speeds up in till for split seconds at a time I noticed it would jump and be exactly as fast as you would expect a SSD. At the time I couldn't exactly afford to buy another SSD and return this one and so I was stuck with it. Now I have another SSD (Samsung) and a HDD (WD) that make this "SSD" feel like driving a car without an engine and know for a fact the drive is just junk. No amount of fiddling with software, changing wires or slots on the motherboard has changed this fact.Crucial storage executive is by far the worst software I've had the pleasure of using which is just another nail in the coffin and as far as I'm technically inclined the software would convince me it was definitely a new drive.Crucial has always been a big name for PC parts so when I purchased it I didn't feel like I needed to worry, at the time it was the cheaper option over an identical Samsung drive. Previous SSDs I've owned were always Samsung and I never have had an issue but I just couldn't fork over the maybe 60 extra dollars.If anyone may ever read this while comparing SSDs save yourself the headache and buy a Samsung. I personally will not be buying another Crucial product again. Results may vary per person but for the first time going out of my "comfort zone" with pc products well I'll just continue to still with companies that I know work out of the box.

great item. can store anything.

For me at least this drive was not plug and play. Once installed the drive showed up under device manager, but required being initialized, and partitioned before the dive letter would show up in fie explorer. Once up and running is really fast. So much better than a standard spinning drive, Was able to transfer a 3.7 GB file from an external SSD connected to a 3.0 USB port to this drive in about 8 seconds. 4 TB for $200 is a pretty good price. Does not come with a SATA cable you will need to buy that separate if adding as an additional drive. You also need a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter tray. Make sure you have an open SATA port on the motherboard as well before you purchase.

works well, when taking files off of it, its really fast but when putting files on to it really slow, takes 2 to 3 times longer to put a file on it than when taking off but other than that works well
