This product works perfectly!! It did take me a minute to find the right plug after taking off the map lights, but is directly plug and play!I spend a lot of time trying to make the dashcam work with the provided 12v plug to no avail.This adapter was a perfect fit, no excess cables and provides the right amount of power to the camera.

I purchased this product because the brand my friend recommended was out of stock, so I randomly chose this one since it ships from the US. Upon receiving it and opening the box, I could tell that the seller put a lot of thought into it. They provided various cables and connectors that users might need, along with a pry tool for opening the car interior for installation. The only tool I had was a screwdriver, so this was truly impressive. The seller even included a small voltage tester that can display the interface voltage to help you check if it can power your dashcam.However, my only complaint is that the length of the cables is a bit short for my case. In the end, I couldn't secure the USB port properly, but it’s not a major issue. I hope the seller can consider making the cables a little longer in the future to accommodate more users.

This was a perfect fit for my 24 Subaru Forester Wilderness. 10 minute installation with no issues. If you have auto dimming mirrors, this is the perfect fit for additional power for dash cam.

I was a bit worried about messing around anywhere near the eyesight system, but I decided to go ahead and do it. It took 5 minutes for my 21 Forester.You need to pop off the black cover near the moon roof, emergency braking and lane departure warning controls. Once that is off you'll find 2 8mm bolts which must be removed. With those removed, gently pull down near both corners by the sunglass holder until it pops loose. Finally, the last two holding points are near the area where the main body of the overhead console curves outward to accommodate the cameras. Grip either side and gently tug. Don't pull it far as there are severe cable connections.I didn't even need to release those cables. I was able to locate the needed connector tucked above the headliner on the passenger side. I made the new connections with this adapter and VHB taped the USB connection to a metal bulkhead to prevent rattling.Reassembly was also quick and easy.

Won't be using. Returned for refund

It works (Update: worked for 4 months, then died). There are a few things that could be done better:1. Find a Youtube video specific for your car. The printed instructions are no help.2. Learn how the existing connector is latched by studying the connector you are about to plug in. It's hard to identify the right pressure point in the cramped space.3. Get some foam and electrical tape to wrap around your connectors. Observe how the existing connector is wrapped, do the same with your new connections.What's unexpectedly great: the provided voltmeter verifying you're getting 12V before connecting the adapter.

This kit is great,highly recommend. It worked perfectly on my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek.
