MSI M16: A great computer with a few manageable drawbacks
Let's get this out of the way first - the cons:The MSI M16 is a bulky, heavy beast of a computer. Its touchpad sucks, its battery life is mediocre, and the black plastic shell attracts fingerprints like a shower drain gathers hair. It would also be great if it had a MicroSD card slot, but I acknowledge that's what adapters are for.The pros:Everything else about the laptop is great. Performance is super smooth, not very loud or hot even when playing modern graphics games like Baldur's Gate 3 or Red Dead Redemption. Works well for 3D design, word processing, etc. as well. Speakers are good, and the cooling hex design on the underside is pretty cool looking. 3 regular USB ports, a USB-C port, HDMI, Ethernet, and a headphone jack cover pretty much all the bases in terms of inputs/outputs. If you can get it on sale, it's well worth the $1100 sale price. I wouldn't pay $1.5k or more for it, but it's a great computer at the price point.

I really like it!
I got the model with the i7-13620H, RTX 4060, 1TB SSD, and 32gb RAMPros: fast as heck, lightweight, beautiful display with a taller screen (great for editing portrait-orientation photos), good value, lots of ports, decent battery life (considering capability and weight), 10-key included, and a simple, understated design without a rainbow keyboardCons: no SD slot on a "creator" series laptop, confusing 10-key layout with non-dedicated home/end/pg up/pg down buttons.Overall, I really like this laptop and I'm more than happy to give it 5 stars. I use a USB-C to SD card adapter which I can easily swap between my phone and computer, so that's not a huge hassle. I mostly use this laptop for lightroom and photoshop, and it works great! However, why can't I get an exact replacement charger on Amazon or from MSI's website? I'd like a backup and I don't want to risk a third-party AC adapter.

If you’re lucky it might work
TLDR: If you have a boyfriend who so happens to be a pc god, go for it on sale. If not, I 100% would not recommend 0 stars keep looking.Pros: This laptop is gorgeous. It feels premium, the specs are premium the screen is fantastic.Cons: It came with a lot of issues. Over heating doing literally nothing, blue screens on boot up, and msi software never working. Lucky for me my boyfriend is a pc god gamer and fixed it all. He reinstalled windows(the blue screens fixed) then we opened up the laptop to add new thermal paste.( I called up msi and asked if we could open it without voiding the warranty and they said it’s totally fine so long as we don’t damage anything while in it.) The paste on before was hard as rock! My guess is the merchants have it in a very hot storage room for it to be this bad. Unfortunately my games were still crashing, so I uninstalled msi center(msi software) and everything works like a charm now. My only complaint is the cpu gets SO HOT(100c to 110c) I play Minecraft and WOW. You NEED a cooling pad if you plan on gaming with it.(don’t go cheap, it doesn’t work) SO! If you have a boyfriend who so happens to be a pc god, go for it on sale. If not, I 100% would not recommend 0 stars keep looking.

Zero stars, piece of crap
Track pad sticks so you can click on anything. After booting up the laptop, it stopped letting me click on icons (and I tried with both the track pad and a mouse. This thing is garbage. Fan was really loud too just doing super basic stuff like opening a browser

Truly no performance issues
Great value for what you get I was really surprised. I did receive an error in the screen my first time ordering but Amazon took care of this no problem. Looks great! Battery life could be longer but I usually keep it plugged in so no complaints there. Performance I’ve had almost no issues in any of my intense creative work.. if you’re working with intensive video production you already know your machine could never be good enough. But this does the job extremely well and I’m very happy with it

perfect for sims and autocad
i use mine for AutoCAD, never lags, absolutely perfect, NEVER GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT THE CHARGER!! dies in an hour or two but for the performance i think that range is typical. Sims 4 also runs smoothly.

Not what I thought it was.
November 2024 I just got done setting up my return label and writing this review on the laptop. I had a Dell XPS and it died after 2 years. I am a content creator and this looked like a good deal. I had it for a few days and gave it a good go! The screen was larger and brighter then my Dell, so that was a plus! But the mouse pad is very clicky and has a lot of movement. I did not like that at all! I believe this would wear out after a while. My laptop cooler pad has a back lip and having a power cord that is located in the back caused it to bend. This also cause the laptop to hang off the font. The foot print is much larger then my old Dell. Had to plug my memory card in a USB adapter and it took much long to transfer files. The fans seem to kick on as soon as the computer boots up and you can hear a low hissing. Installed my editing software and gave it a update. My internet connection was painfully slow and couldn't figure out why. Surfing the web and the images loaded slowly. I reset my router and at this point I just wanted my Dell back. Bottom line this laptop probably would be a real good PC to sit on a desk and use a blue tooth mouse. But if you sit in the lazy boy at night and the PC sits on you lap this is probably not for you.
