I’ve been looking for a wireless thermometer for the koi pond, and ran across this. I have a few other Govee products I’m happy with and already have the app installed, so this seemed perfect.The setup instructions seem complicated, but the app walks you through it very easily.Good range, seems to work great. The thermometer itself seems sturdy, made out of thick plastic with a digital display on top. The temperature reading agrees with the old analog thermometer, and I don’t have to walk down to the pond in the cold to check it

I'm happy with the thermometer. I'm using it in the pool, and it works perfectly. The WiFi gateway is 50 feet from the thermometer and works as designed. It was very easy to set up.

Great Device, Easy to setup. Now we just ask "Alexa, What's the Pool Temperature" and Alexa tells us the pool temperature. No more having to go out to the pool to check if the pool is warm enough yet. :)

After one week of use, the thermometer works well and provides accurate readings within a .5 degree F range. It connects to its plug-in extender within a reasonable distance (up to 40 feet). However, I give it a four star rating for its very poor instruction manual. It took me approximately two hours to figure out myself how to set up and connect the device when it should take 10 minutes or less. For someone who is not tech capable, set up will be challenging. I recommend the manual be rewritten by someone who knows Mandarin and English fluently. I’ll report back on device durability after at least 6 months of use.

Seems a very well manufactured and designed product. It’s accurate. More accurate than the mercury thermometer that I have been using in my swimming pool. The Wi-Fi gateway was easy to set up. The device synced onto my phone. The app seems easy enough to use. I’m only using one thermometer in the pool, no other devices. We’ll see how long the battery lasts. So far so good.

Govee support reached out to me and offered a full refund. I accepted and immediately purchased another one of these devices. Hopefully it works. We have 20ish Govee devices in our house as leak detectors and thermometers and they work fantastic. The leak detectors are a MUST HAVE for any homeowner. I want to add Govee support is next level. During the setup of one of their devices I called on a weekend for assistance. They were closed and I figured out the issue (ID10T error). Govee support called me back on Monday. Great products. Great support.*****Normally love Govee products. I have 24 of their leak detectors and temp sensors on my mesh network without issues but this one. It is in our pool and constantly goes offline making it worthless. Sorry, one star.

The Govee smart pool thermometer was a useful addition to our pool. Compared to many competitors, who seem to think that anything for use with a pool deserves "premium" pricing, the price was great! It's really helpful for the cooler months of the year when it's not evident if the water is going to be warm enough for a swim and/or one wants to check while at work or otherwise away from the house. It would also be helpful for those wanting to monitor their pool heater's performance. Data retention and export allows for viewing trends over 2 years. Additional models provide a second thermometer or a thermo-hygrometer at additional cost.Installation was extremely easy, taking less than 20 minutes, including installation of the provided batteries, downloading of the app, and configuration of communications. Configuring the gateway to our wifi and pairing the thermometer was simple. Once basic communications were set up, adding Govee's wifi gateway to our Google Home automation app was also very easy.The floating thermometer has an easy-to-read LCD display on top that doesn't require lifting the device out of the water to determine temperature when you're in the pool like old-school analog thermometers. It appears to be quite sturdy, being constructed (I believe) from ABS. It has a very easily installed and effective water seal for the battery compartment (one spare is also provided). It's shape and low position when floating in the pool means that it doesn't end up hiding in the skimmer, but a tether cord is also provided for those wanting it to stay put.Communication from the actual thermometer to the provided wifi gateway receiver in the house has been flawless, even with our steel reinforced masonry walls and LOTS of wifi devices in use. That was a pleasant surprise, given that in our case, the thermometer is never closer to the wifi gateway than about 32 feet and, depending on where it's bobbing about in the pool, is sometimes some 52 feet from the receiver.
