Outboard comes without oil or grease !!!
This outboard requires gear oil in the leg by the prop ' and grease in all the usual places which I found on YouTube !!!Don't run it without these unless your trying to destroy it !!!The grease nipple's are made from some type of cheap monkey metal ' and easily shear off ' so replace them with good quality stainless steel ones ', I got mine from Amazon as you can see !!!If you want the outboard to still look good 👍😊 after a year then I recommend adding stainless steel wire under each grease nipple linking all the way down ' to prevent electrolytic corrosion ' which also causes the paint to pop off after only a year according to you tube !!!Don't use copper crimps because copper is electrically much stronger than other metals ' and will cause aluminium or magnesium alloy to be eaten away in just months with the right conditions !!!I am a qualified plumbing and heating engineer ' so the outboard needs to essentially be bonded with stainless 1mm cable from top to bottom ' if you want to extend it's life 🧬 and just replace the sacrificial anode every year ' which is cheap to replace !!!If your not 🚫👎 confident with such things then get your outboard put together by a qualified and experienced outboard engineer !!!It's a good 👍😊 idea 💡 to take cable ties out with you because some people on YouTube report linkages coming lose under the cowling ' and don't forget to lubricate the throttle cables ' because they come without lubricant as well !!!The outboard is much quieter than I expected ' and I have run it up for two hours in a wheelie bin with enough water 💦 to cover half the outboard leg ' because the bottom of the leg needs to be in water 💦 which it sucks up to cool the engine !!!it will need the choke pulled out half way from cold ❄️🥶 ' and once you open the fuel tap on the side ' you will also need to open the vent in the fuel ⛽ tank to allow air in ' so that fuel can run out !!!If you don't open the tank breather screw ' it creates a vacuum which stops the fuel from flowing through the engine !!!This is a two stroke engine ' so you need to mix marine two stroke oil with the petrol to lubricate the engine and to prevent over heating or it will heat seaze which gets expensive 🫰 !!!Initially it's recommended to add a 25 to 1 mix of fuel ⛽ and oil 🛢️🪔 but after 8 hours of running in the mix can apparently be reduced to 50 to 1 fuel ⛽ mixture !!!I am very happy so far ' but I would recommend you tube to learn about outboard lubrication and maintenance !!!Two stroke outboards do make the 💦 water filthy ' and aren't terribly good for the environment 🤢 but this 6 hp two stroke Hangkai outboard is stupidly cheap ' and will doubtlessly be much less noisy and have more poke than a four stroke equivalent !!!I once had a 4 hp four stroke mariner outboard ' but it was so noisy that I didn't even want to be in the same boat as it !!!The four stroke did leave the water 💦 crystal 🔮 clear afterwards 😜👍 and they are kinder to the environment ' but most people would usually go for a two stroke outboard up to about 30 hp !!!I have an electric 💡⚡ Hangkai outboard too ' but you really need a 12v 200ah life PO4 battery 🔋 on an electric 💡⚡ 12v trolling motor !!!
