The trick is to determine the correct bait to mix it with. Not all ants like sugar, some prefer fatty foods. With the correct bait it destroys the entire nest over a few days time.

Hello Yes you can, it is an excellent flux - this is the decahydrate so to use this you heat it a little at first to produce the anhydrous version then move to full heat, you can avoid this preheat by step by buying the anhydrous version (which i sell also) some folks prefer the dehybor "Glassified" version (I sell this too, but this is "micropearls" (Small beads) and they may roll around and not stay where you want them in the forge environment. All three work as a flux and decontaminant, absorbing slag and helping metals to bond.

In the label says "Fine powder / 99.9% pure / Reagent grade".I don't know what product is for you the "borax detergent" that you want to compare, but this product is quite pure, with 99.9% is as pure as a laboratory reagent. Actually, it could perfectly be used in a chemical laboratory.I say that because I am working in a laboratory, if you give me the code of the other product that you want to compare, I can help you.In any case, 99.9% is probably the most pure that you are going to get for a reasonable price. If your concern is purity, don't look for more.
