If you see those TikTok videos where they clean rugs with pressure washers and it looks so satisfying, so you think "I can do that!" Just don't. DON'T. It's a trap. I ruined my cream colored rug. Wicking happened and it turned brown. This saved me from throwing out the entire thing. I now use it regularly on all my carpets and rugs!

I have a high quality rug in my living room that is approximately 6 months old and a elderly Lab who is 14 years old. It’s safe to say that old dogs plus new rugs is a recipe for disaster. Flash forward to 3 urine accidents on said new rug and several cleanings with my Bissell . I erroneously thought more (solution) is better than less, which once dried, the rug appeared to have brown discoloration here and there : the cause, carpet browning or “wicking” very likely due to too much water used while cleaning that was not all sucked up.I added 3oz of this solution to 1 gallon of hot water in the tank of my Bissell and gave the spots the once over. Once fully dry, no more brown stained areas so I’d give this two thumbs up for success.

Not that impressed, still had spots after using. White vinegar and dish soap followed up by baking soda did the trick for me.

Brown Out really works and far exceeded my expectations. While shampooing my 13 year old carpet, my carpet cleaner failed to fully suction up the dirty water and as you can see from the picture, left me with a dirty, muddy stain. I tried so any products to clean it and absolutely nothing worked. As a last resort I purchased the Brown Out (along with a new carpet cleaner) figuring I had nothing to lose. I had to use the product 3 different times in my shampooer to get the results that I wanted, allowing the carpet to thoroughly dry between cleanings, but the end result was well worth it! Note: The after picture shows the result after using Brown Out only, prior to shampooing. Brown Out saved me from buying new carpet!

Had high hopes.... Did not work for me. Tried all the different suggestions. The brown stain kept coming back and actually got worse after the first or second try. Waste of time and money.
