I used this for Monarch caterpillars to release as butterflies. I’m happy with the size & construction-not as bulky as the 2 ft version. The only negative is that I wish the side zipper opening was bigger for cleaning the cage without disturbing the caterpillars or chrysalises. I use paper towels in the bottom and it’s a little hard to get them in & out. I noticed that the 12” cube version has a bigger opening. Other than that I’m happy with the design & the caterpillars are fine with it😊

My purchase was for three reasons: to be able to watch the beauty of nature unfold before my eyes and to be able to teach my grandchildren more about nature and to answer a need for my 8 yr old grandson who is our little scientist. This butterfly habitat is the perfect size for our small home, was inexpensive but very well made and I love the idea that it has a hand size zipper door on the side as well as the zippered top that allows easy access for cleaning and attending. It's also very handy that it readily collapses when not in use and is held closed with velcro. Putting it up is a breeze; just unfasten the velcro and the habitat pops into shape. Great purchase and I would recommend it to anyone interested in butterflies.

This habitat cage is one of the best that I could find. It not only opens and the top but can also be opened on the bottom side of the cage. This is a very educational gift or even for myself. My grandson has greatly enjoyed looking for caterpillars and then putting them in the cage. We track the days once they spin into a chrysalis and he cannot wait until the day comes when a beautiful Monarch emerges. He waits patiently until they are ready to be released. We have released 15 already this year and have a total of 7 chrysalis in the cage right now. Even I enjoy this cage and know that we are helping to add to the Monarch population.

Absolutely great product! Looks exactly like the pictures and very easy to fold down and store. I needed a butterfly garden for my Insect Lore caterpillars as they entered the metamorphosis stage. I have ordered the Insect Lore caterpillar kit in the past (comes with the caterpillar cup, pop-up butterfly habitat, nectar feeder, etc.), but misplaced the pop-up habitat which I needed for my butterfly chrysalises at the time asap. The Restcloud butterfly habitat definitely served as a great replacement for the Insect Lore butterfly garden. They both are great quality and quite similar in style. I personally like the Restcloud habitat more because of the small zipper window on the side of the mesh wall which allows for easy access inside in order to put flowers, fruit, nectar, (etc.) for the butterflies. Love this product, would definitely recommend!
