This Filache Chicken Chettinad Masala has a wonderful flavor. I used it with some chicken breasts for a wonderful dinner. There was enough spice for several chicken meals. I also used some of the spice mix when I was making a side rice dish to bring to a friend's house for dinner.

this is a very tasty masala. we made it with chicken frozen vegetables over rice. it was a hit with my family. this is a must have at any ones house

This is just the basic spice mix, so you will need some additional ingredients to make the dish. There is a very bare bones recipe on the back to follow (not in the standard format with the ingredient list... just has instructions and you pull the info from there). You can also look up a chettinad recipe and just use the spice mix.Flavor is delicious!! I found it to be the kind of spicy that makes my lips tingle. Some people in my family found it too spicy and needed more rice and raita to cool down.Will definitely get again and try more from the brand!

I wouldn’t have known what to do with this without the help of the other reviewers, so thanks to them. I made a sauce with this, threw in coconut milk and a bag of frozen veggies with my chunks of chicken breast (pre-browned), and served it over white rice. I have no idea if that’s what was intended with this, but we liked it. It was a bit too spicy for my husband, but I’m more of a medium salsa kind of person than he is, and I loved it. Without cutting it with the veggies and the rice, it might have been too hot for me.

Chicken thigh chunks, a bag of frozen stir fry veggies, some coconut milk and red sofrito and garlic. Added some pasta and it was a meal.I’m a spice wimp so this was a bit spicy for me. Had to drink milk with every bite. But that’s just me.

Instead of mixing with chicken, I used ground beef. It was pretty spicy for me (I have a lower tolerance level) but still edible. I did have to dilute it with some water and other ingredients. It recommends to marinate the meat for 30 min prior to cooking. The box is easy to open and the sachet inside is easy to tear open.

This is a good spice blend & makes it easy to create chicken Chettinad masala – a style of chicken masala from the Chettinad region of southern India. It is spicy but not overly spicy. I added coconut milk, tomato & onion to chicken thighs – made a good dinner.
