These baking mats arrived wrapped in a cellophane bag, to keep them protected.In the bag was a total of five mats - 2 large rectangular ones, 2 smaller rectangles and one circular.The large ones are very large, much bigger than my baking trays so I'm not sure if/how I'll be using those in future.However the smaller mats were the perfect size for my baking tray, whilst the 9" circular mat was a good fit for one of my springform tins. I'm sure you could probably cut the mats to size but it's a distinct bonus that three of them were a standard size and fitted my tins perfectly.I tested one out by baking some tuilles. These were spread very thin and a tricky first test - which the mat passed with ease.There was zero sticking, my baking slid off with ease. Handily they are dishwasher proof so cleaning them is also a piece of cake!At £17.69, at time of review, they are fairly pricey but I will be able to get multiple uses from each one and there's no waste (unlike using foil or greaseproof paper). From an environmental perspective they're great and will pay for themselves eventually.....the more you bake the quicker the payback!

Helps ensure that my baked goods do not stick. No longer need to soak my baking trays!

They fit most standard trays, although the circular is an odd size. They work well in the oven and it's easy to remove the food pieces with water. However they are difficult to clean, they still retain the scent of the food after washing and rinsing and feel sticky and are hard to separate. Washing under the tap is awkward as they are waterproof and water goes everywhere.Maybe I`m washing them incorrectly, there were no instructions.

This set of mats arrives in a easy to recycle plastic bag. My intention being to use them to reduce the amount of washing up in a very busy family home. Though I found one of the sheets a bit too big for one of my baking trays, so I decided to cut it to size.Something I was reasonably confident in doing because I use silicone a lot when creating moulds for resin casting. But I'd never heard of "Platinum silicone" before, so I looked in the plastic bag for an instruction or safety leaflet. Finding none I referred to the product page and it says this product contains fibreglass.So not only won't I be cutting these, but I won't be putting them into my cooker either. Instead I will be using these mats solely for crafting. Something that these actually do rather well. Especially how well they stick to kitchen worktop and also clean up very easily. Plus with so many in the pack there are good value as well. It's just a shame what they may contain.

Good set of 5 mats. The largest rectangular ones are 41.5x29.5cm, the smaller rectangular ones are 29.5x21cm and the round one has a diameter of 22.5cm. They're made of brown mesh with a wide weave 1sqcm apart completely covered with quite thick transparent silicone (with an opaque grey border, top and bottom). This combination means that they're thicker than others I've come across (without the mesh). Each has the following printed in black on the top: Baking Mat, Platinum Silicon accompanied with three symbols signifying that they can withstand 250degree C in an oven, can go in the microwave and meet the EU food contact standards. They're non-slip which can be useful in different ways: in the oven for baking (food doesn't stick to them and you can use them time and again unlike baking parchment paper) or on the work surface with food prep tasks (ie rolling pastry; additionally I now place one of them under my chopping board when using a mezzaluna to avoid the board from moving around). The different shapes and sizes gives you versatility of usage. Packed in a large cellophane bag displaying a sticker saying: Sapito, Happiness is homemade.

I really love these silicone baking mats. As I no longer cook in the traditional oven/grill - I only use countertop appliances, the larger ones aren't really suitable for cooking on (no appliance is large enough for them), but they make great protectors for worktops, where I can prepare food or place hot items. The smaller rectangles and the round one work well in the air fryer and microwave, and protect food from coming into contact with wire stands that have lost their coating. I really appreciate that they can go in the dishwasher, and are rigid enough to stand up in a plate rack in there, so clean-up is virtually effortless.
