I have not used it in the field yet. But it is very solid and mounting system is as good as any other.Great product for the money compared to some others.

If I could give -0- stars I would. DO NOT BUYABSOLUTE GARBAGEThe tank itself seems decent. The mount is made out of super soft plastic. To secure the tank to the mount it requires the long bolt in the handle to thread into a nut held in the plastic in the main mount. The problem is the plastic is so soft that it allows the nut to spin. Then the only way to take the tank off the mount is to break the handle and cut the bolt with a hacksaw or grinder with a cut off wheel.I've had two of these tanks (the first was replaced for this exact reason) and it happened to both of them the very first time we went to put the tank in the mount. I'm a fabricator. The bolts were not cross threaded. The plastic that retains the nut is just that soft.The first tank Had to be cut off the mount.I should have known better than have them send another.Exact same thing happened to the second tank the very first time it was threaded on.If you like using a grinder with a cut off wheel to cut the tank off your vehicle then by all means go for it.On a side note I even called Rough Country in Dyrersburg Tn. They were like tough luck.Poor product and even worse customer service.This one is going back to Amazon

I bought the Rough Country 10L/2.6 Gallon Flat Fluid Container with Lockable Mount - (Gray). This container is super strong with a great lockable mount. No leaks and is easy to take on and off. Also, looks fantastic. Highly recommend.

Great looking container, mounting system is ok... I live in Arizona, and the plastic of the mounting system literally started to deform and melt! Before you say, "yeah, but you live in Arizona", keep in mind that I bought the fuel container in January when the avg temp was around 55 degrees. By mid-March, of course after the return period, the mounting system failed, and the container itself developed a crack at the bottom. Despite religiously venting the container every single time I fueled up my truck, the crack at the bottom developed anyway and fuel was spilled all over the freeway for the next 24 hours. It's too bad, because I generally like Rough Country and have had good luck with most of their products, and especially since this is such a great looking container at a great price. I was really happy with it, until it completely failed and started to fall apart. Sorry rough country... this one is a fail.

3.5-4 star.. Overall tends to do the trick although it seems to be porous around the seams. Keeping an eye on it, may run a bead of sealant.The mount supplied doesn't fasten tight and there is rotational play in the container even when fastened down (too much play between mount and container).For the price can't complain too much compared to the cost of a rotopax. I use it for diesel even though it's not listed as safe because of the vent.

Like these liquid containers and half the price of competitors as well as the neutral color gray. I was heading out on a week long Overland trip in the High Sierras and needed to carry extra gas. These were perfect and did the job. I mounted two of these to the back of my vehicles and was easy with on and off for use. I was never worried about them falling off, brackets mounts strong and held perfect. They have multiple uses with different liquids, water etc...

Placed on back of vehicle, tried to remove the can after being on the vehicle for a few weeks and the lock was stuck ended up breaking it off, did a temporary fix and went out again, the gas can ended up splitting at the bottom spewing fuel all over my vehicle.

Quality is amazing. All the hardware is heavy duty. Highly recommended.
