Great for kids, really accessible.

It's not bad. It has some good safety tips and techniques at the start and good tips on beginning, and then it's just a series of rough project ideas on what you could do with your kid to get them started. The projects aren't really a detailed 'step by step' though, more broad suggestions, and you'll probably find that very young children lack the coordination and strength to do that many of them. I ended up making 'magic wands' with my kid, and even then we resorted to using a spoke shave instead of a carving knife, but she enjoyed it.
