Biona Organic Dark Chocolate Spread, 350g

Can be quite pricey but I got this on offer at just over £2 so felt like a real treat. Would recommend either way - rich chocolate flavour with a good spreadable texture. Much better quality than your average chocolate spread.

My daughter loves this stuff - has it on toast, waffles, etc. I like it too but have it very seldom because it has a lot of sugar and fat. There's no dairy or palm oil in it, so good for people with lactose intolerance or people who want to avoid palm oil and the rainforest destruction that it leads to. The product arrived well wrapped and intact, so all around I'm happy.

I usually only eat dark chocolate as I find milk chocolate too sweet, so naturally I was excited to try this spread.Like any other choc spread, it does taste good. But if (like me) you have a strong preference for dark chocolate, this product probably isn't for you.I typically go for a chocolate that has at least 30% cocoa in it (70%, at most). However this spread, if I'm not mistaken, contains only 12.5% cocoa powder - which is disappointing if the sole reason you're purchasing it, is because it's "dark" - er, hello, 12.5% hardly qualifies as 'dark' lol.In short: If you're a chocolate lover, then you will most likely love the taste of this spread.If on the other hand, you're a dark chocolate lover, then to you, this spread will taste no different to the usual stuff & you will most likely be disappointed.Also, if you are purchasing this to be "healthy", then please think again. Yes, the ingredients may be organic, but the same ingredients are still present - the main being SUGAR followed by vegetable OIL and FAT - not good if you want to live to see your golden years..imo

It's a shame that the lid is a non recyclable plastic and there is so much sugar!!!For the rest, the flavour, texture and the ingredients are fantastic, much better than a well known brand.It smells really nice when opening the first time!I was looking for an alternative to the palm oil, I am very pleased with this one.Adopted by the whole family :)

My chocolate treat on biscuits, in pancakes, frothed up in a milk shake, smoothed over a cake and then scrapped out with a spoon...... it will be the same for each jar. Although I did give one as a thank you gift to some young lads who cleared my path during COVID lock down

I like this very much, its excellent quality and make a delicious accompaniment to a dessert with fresh strawberries and some greek yogurt!
