After 16 years, THE CURE is back with their 14th studio album, SONGS OF A LOST WORLD. Songs from the record were previewed during their 90-date, 33-country `Shows Of A Lost World' tour for more than 1.3 million people to overwhelming fan and critical acclaim. Speaking about, "Alone," the opening track on the album, Robert Smith says, "It's the track that unlocked the record; as soon as we had that piece of music recorded, I knew it was the opening song and I felt the whole album come into focus. that was the moment when I knew the song - and the album - were real." Robert Smith created the sleeve concept and Andy Vella, a longtime Cure collaborator, handled the album's art and design. The cover art features `Bagatelle,' a 1975 sculpture by Janez Pirnat. Available on standard black BioVinyl. Deluxe Edition includes the album and instrumentals on 2 CDs, plus a Blu-ray Audio disc with Hi-Res stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes in Digisleeve packaging. Limited Edition.

An astounding record
This will go down as one of the great Cure records. If you like the late 80s stuff like Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss me and Disintegration, then you will love this. Robert grabbed 1989, brought it back to 2024 and slapped us in the face with a master work of heartfelt and brooding music. Heavy, dark and powerful yet somehow light sounding, as only the Cure can deliver.

A triumphant return
A triumphant return after two immense disappointments—the forgettable 2004 and 2013 albums. This record is on par with Bloodflowers (2000) and Wish (1992) and has quickly entered my top five The Cure albums.

Another great album
Played with no problems. The Cure just keep getting better and this can be listed to over and over. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Amazing Songs, Terrible Audio
The songs themselves are absolutely amazing. However, the mix and master are both pretty poor. Thankfully this can be mostly remedied by owning the 3-disc deluxe edition. This contains a 7.1 ATMOS mix of the album that uses a slightly different mix and a much less compressed master. Downmixing that version to 2 channels provides a far greater listening experience than the standard cd. One star removed for having to go through the downmixing process. This seems more and more common and I'm not sure why the better mixes/masters aren't being put on the standard cds to being with. Everyone should be able to enjoy music they purchase in its best form. Not just those who buy deluxe editions and know how to downmix the multi-channel to stereo.

Powerful, soulful, dark
Robert Smith comes across with a deep, dark, intense, and soulful production in Songs of a Lost World. This may very well be my favorite Cure album. Just incredible!
