Incredible picture and performance so far
Pros: the picture is incredible. This does feel like a good compromise to get both rich blacks, and brightness. This is being powered by a 4070 ti Super GPU, I haven't torture tested it with RDR2, but I have played Serious Sam 4 on it, and averaged around 90-100hz at 4k. I don't believe my video card is capable of keeping up with 144hz at 4k.Cons: This thing takes its time turning on, which is a little frustrating, but this is my first 4k monitor, so this might be common with those displays. It takes about 4x longer than my 1080p AOC.Final verdict: I took a chance on this with almost no reviews. So far, I do like it and I do believe it was a decent value at $470 at the time. If I could do it over again, I would buy this monitor again. I will update this review after running Red Dead R2, or if it breaks.

Died within an hour
I was incredibly excited to receive this monitor as it was a Christmas present for my new PC build. Lets rate the monitor in terms of some common categories. Keep in mind, that this monitor died within an hour of use, so while the beginning of my review sounds ok, that's going to change when we get to the final category.Packaging, assembly, what's in the box: Great packaging, quick and easy assembly. Came with a HDMI 2.1 Cable, DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB-C cable. The base articulated 180 degrees, has decent tilt, and had a genius installation method that made everything just "click together". Great job here! My one complaint is that the film covering the screen leaves terrible streaking after being removed.Display: The display was good. While it definitely had better contrast and details than my much older Samsung U28E510 the difference was not startling. HDR was unusable because it locks you out of color settings and the factory calibration is awful. G-sync and 160hz was smooth and was a pleasure to work with in games like Counter Strike 2, I was very impressed. The matte finish of this monitor is undesirable as it washes out color. The mini-led functions of the monitor were not noticeable to my eye under low light and high light environments.Firmware and features: Again, using HDR locks you out of color calibration. The firmware leaves a lot to be desired, it is clunky and difficult to use. There aren't many options available.Durability: The screen immediately began to put out a lot of heat on first use. The space I am in working in had plenty of ventilation and was around 70F (21C). I immediately became concerned of overheating, but I thought that this screen might just run hot. After using the monitor for about an hour the screen suddenly turned black. The blue indicator light remained solid. I checked my computer settings and the computer was no longer recognizing the screen. I tried using another computer, a different display port cord, and power-cycling the unit, nothing worked. I realized that every time I turned the screen on the blue indicator light would remain solid after the KTC logo appeared, and it would never go into the red standby mode. Furthermore, I could not access the menu options for the monitor at all. This leads me to believe that the display itself is operating correctly, but something with the main board of the monitor has failed.Final thoughts: I am returning the item and I will not purchasing the KTC brand in the future. I have purchased an HP Omen 27k as replacement as I did not find the mini-led to be a compelling feature for my use-case. I will not excuse poor QC for any company. Items should not fail this quickly or come DOA if the company is being diligent. If this monitor works for you, then you will probably have a decent experience, but I think that you could buy something without mini-led and end up with a better product. Also, the HDR experience of this monitor is completely compromised by its poor color calibration and the inability to change that calibration once in HDR mode. Overall, I cannot recommend this monitor.

No HDR certificate from Microsoft .
The monitor comes in a nice box and packaging. Setting up was easy. The problem I have is that they say this is 1000 HDR rating. Well this is the biggest problem with this monitor. There is no HDR certificate that I can find for Microsoft to acknowledge that it's an HDR monitor. Microsoft has made the cut off for HDR at 500. This is 1000 but the actual HDR certificate is missing.causing this 1000 HDR monitor worthless. If KTC can respond to this with a certificate. Then I will change the rating.Without the certificate this monitor is a basic 4k monitor.I went through my 4080 video card and changed the settings to make the monitors HDR effects to pop. It's just for the money they are asking for this monitor. It should have an HDR certificate from Microsoft.I just wish companies should be forced to have the Microsoft certificate for the HDR aspects.Without the certificate this monitorIs an over priced true 4k monitor. With really no HDR aspects working.. I had my son buy this monitor as I did. Now I feel terrible

So Far So Good. Great Pic and Brightness
I bought this over and OLED for the brightness. It's a fine workstation monitor. I don't game, but movies are pretty nice on this. Setup is a little silly, but got it working.
