This stand works for its intended purpose. Very powerful fan. Sturdy. However, the fan is extremely loud. Its only bearable at a sixth of the max setting. I don't believe that is an acceptable speed to use it. I will have to find another option. I will be returning this stand today.Another note, the post that hold the laptop up at the bottom stick out too far and stabs you in the arm when typing. I was able to work around that but just making a note of it.

This ICE COOREL gaming laptop cooling pad is a nice unit. I have a new gaming laptop that uses the I9 chip and RTX 4070 GPU. When I am gaming Lords of the Fallen, my two fans (CPU, GPU) kick into high speed to do its job of cooling the internals (mainly the two chips). However, the two fans can get fairly loud, so I use a set of earbuds to drown out the fan noise. When I set the laptop on the ICE Coorel cooler, the laptop fans hardly need to kick into highspeed (thanks to the large 5.5in pad fan) when I'm playing the game. I set the cooling pad fan speed to the lowest setting of 300 and it seems to do a sufficient job of assisting the laptop at staying cool enough that the laptops internal fans only speed up a little (barely notice the increase). You can crank the fan speed up, way up, but it gets really loud. I can even hear it with my earbuds in and the volume turned up... so that's too loud for my liking.My 17in laptop has the airflow coming in from the bottom of the laptop and exhausting out the backside, which is what this cooling pad is designed for. The cooling pad has a nice thick foam seal (cushion) that the laptop sits on top of. This allows plenty of space for the air flow (CFM) to pass through, unrestricted, into the bottom of my laptop. It works really well for me.Now, as for the design/size of the cooling pad... it is fairly large. I use it at home, but I am still able to take it with me on the road with me when vacationing. It barely fits into my large laptop backpack. The pad requires its own power supply, (included) so that is another item that has to travel with me. The pad has an included (short) USB cable that you plug into the laptop and then plug into the pad to provide additional USB "A" ports for more devices. The pad can be "tilt" adjusted for your desired keyboard pitch and there are two very sturdy pop-up legs that will prevent the laptop from sliding down (toward you) when the cooling pad is tilted up. The controls are very simple... on/off fan button, fan speed dial, LED brightness, LED color pattern selection, and an LED off button. The LED lights are pretty cool with all the choices you get... I just like the slow (not too bright) multi-color rotation around the whole cooling pad.The cooling pad does a great job for me... However, it would be nice if the pad was not so bulky, maybe half the thickness. One more thing, the price could be lower (just my opinion).

I got this for cooling purposes during extended computer use. The design makes it stand out from others. The fan is very powerful and adjustable. The cooling is very effective and keeps my internal fan off. The colors are a plus. They really make the fan pop and they fit in to most gaming setups. The adjustable stand helps in smaller situations and assists with cooling. The price point is on the high side but well worth it. I am pleased.

I love the variable fan speed as it does cool off the laptop. However, I was very disappointed because the power button, light button, and other button does not work. I was thinking about shipping it back, but I was traveling during that time, so o guess I’ll have to eat the loss.
