Decent enough
This is fine for my purposes and budget. The grid lines are visible and relatively square. There are a number of nicks and imperfections on the surface of the counting area. Shipping was fast.

Great value
I bought a slightly cheaper hemacytometer before this one that ended up being useless because its lines were too light and barely visible. The lines on this one are easily readable. The grid is a few degrees off horizontal, but it's not a major concern. Shipping was fast. Item arrived without the package cover in a padded enveloppe, but it was still in perfect condition.

Product you receive may not have the v-shaped notch or proper coverslips.
Depending on the store-front that is selling the hemocytomer, you may receive one that does not have the v-shaped notch, like in the picture of the product, to assist in pipetting the suspension into the counting chamber. Also, your coverslips may not be properly square, or of the proper thickness/mass to account for the surface tension of the suspension leading to an inaccurate count. All in all, I'm disappointed in myself in thinking that a $44 hemocytomer would be of the same quality as the one in the picture, but I took the risk of purchasing from a new store.
