Must Read
“From Dubai to Karachi” stands out as a comprehensive, thrilling, and authoritative account of one of India’s most infamous crime figures. The book skillfully blends investigative journalism with a narrative that reads like an underworld chronicle, making it a must-read for followers of crime literature, current affairs, and South Asian geopolitics. If you want an immersive dive into mafia history and geopolitical intrigue, Zaidi’s book is highly recommended. It’s both an informative and gripping read that offers insights into Dawood Ibrahim’s enduring influence and the complex nexus of crime and politics between India and Pakistan

Hussain Zaidi's books are a must read
If you are interested in reading about the world of crime, any book authored by Hussain Zaidi is a must-read. All of his books are based on meticulous research, facts and information which are also based on primary research done by him in the form of interviews. At the same time, his narrative way of writing ensures that the book is not boring or mundane.Always recommended.

Painstakingly Documented Authentic Narration
Well researched and documented version of the life and times of the Mumbai Mafia based on interactions with a host of inisders who were in the thick of the actions. However, I had expected a large part of the narration to be focused on the Don and his life post his fleeing to Dubai and then to Karachi which is rather sketchy.

Expected more from Zaidi
As an author myself, I have long been a fan of Hussain Zaidi and his works. But this one didn't meet my expectations. I felt he could have done a much better job. His previous works have been phenomenal but I felt this one didn't reach that level. Though the title tells that it is the Dawood saga, I felt that it is the story of many people who are connected to him or the D-company in some way. More focus should have been on Dawood and life through his lenses.

Old wine in new glass
This book doesn't match the might of Hussain Zaidi. Except for few chapters and incidents, most of the things are repetition of the things mentioned in Hussain's previous works like Dongri to Dubai, Black Friday, Dirty dozen etc. The readers who have read the previous books will find nothing new. It may be informative for a new reader who has not read Hussain before. It also seems that the book has been written in haste and doesn't match the meticulousness and depth of the previous publishments.Never expected something like this from Zaidi as I am an avid reader of his works and always appreciated his knack of research and authenticity.
