I've heard a lot about this when it first came out. “Under the Stars” definitely has a thickness to it with depth than other ones. I smell the black pepper and as it dries down I get the cedarwood with that mix of woody. It actually can be unisex. If you don't like deeper perfumes than this isn't for you as it is somewhat woody but in a light balanced way. It isn't musky. It doesn't lean feminine or masculine. If you are a fan of leather then this one is for you. It has an off putting leather smell that is the main note. Again i personally do not like that accord. Lets talk about duration about 4 -6 hours with moderate to heavy application, the scent trail is pretty skin close after about 30 min but if you apply to neck its all you smell. 3 Star basically because of my dislike of leather. Atomizer is nice, bottle and cap is cheapy and comes in basic box. Additional note not sure where this sour smell comes from but it must be something leather

Maison Margiela's Replica line is designed to create scents that replicate certain moments or feelings in time. Under The Stars is meant to recall the feeling of camping out at night with friends or loved ones in the desert. It's meant to be a little exotic, a little romantic, a little cozy, and a little dark. I think it does a perfect job of creating that feel. The leather and oud combine to give that dark exotic, spiciness of warm desert air, and it feels very warm and slightly sensual. The oud has more of a woody feel that is very slightly animalic. It's safe enough to wear in polite company, and I think it adds to an overall masculine direction.I love the smaller 1oz bottle size. I have a fairly large collection, and the 3.4oz bottles will never get fully consumed. So having the smaller one lets me enjoy the fragrance without wasting it. It's also a less expensive price point, which makes it more affordable, and it's also easier to put in my travel bag for when I'm out ... camping under the stars...There are other fragrances that smell similar, and I don't think that the scent is particularly unique. That said, I really like the Maison Margiela Brand. The EDT concentrations last a good while on my skin. I typically get 6 to 8 hours from most scents in the line, and this is no exception. It has great performance for the first 3 to 4 hours then fades to a more intimate skin scent before finally disappearing a few hours later. It's perfect for intimate evenings and social gatherings. I think it also works well for layering. Pair it with Jazz Club or By The Fire Place to create a very nuanced and complex scent.
