Much better than the average store tapioca. Makes superior tapioca pudding. Worth it!

Good option
I like the size of these and it’s a better value for the money than the tiny ones you get in the grocery store. But that said you can go to an Indian market and finds large bags of tapioca at very cheap prices .

No cooking instructions
I made tapioca pudding with coconut milk using a simple recipe I already had on hand. I didn't presoak it, and only had to simmer it at the lowest stove temp for 20 minutes after it almost reached a boil.

Very pleased with tapioca I made with this product.
I made Tapioca Pudding . Lack of instructions or recipe was not helpful. I had to read quite a while, as there are different ideas on how to use the small pearl tapioca. most directions say overnight soaking before cooking but you would have a soggy pudding.....Mine turned out very well so will give my recipe. .COVER WITH WATER: 1 CUP SMALL PEARL TAPIOCA for 2 hours...no longer. In Medium pan add:Drained tapioca pearls, 5.5 CUPS OF MILK of your choice .(.I use Oat milk.) and 1/2 to 1 TEAS SALT, according to taste.Remove from heat and add 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 teas ground cinnamon.Return to LOW heat , whisking occasionally until the pearls have plumped and pudding has thickened.SEPARATE 4 EGGS...whisk the 4 yolks in a bowl and then add, while still whisking, a small amount of the hot pudding to temper the transition of the eggs to the pudding. While still on low heat, whisk the yolks into the pudding.BEAT 4 EGG WHITES in separate bowl, until there are soft peaks...remove pudding from heat and fold in beaten egg whites.ADD: 1 TBSP VANILLA EXTRACT AND 1 TEAS OR MORE TO TASTE OF ALMOND EXTRACT.Pour into dishes or containers....NOTE: Making tapioca with the small pearl tapioca takes less stirring time and chance of burning. You don't have to constantly stir while the pudding is thickening and there is no 20 minute resting time and stirring again, afterwards.

Great texture, makes great tapioca!
This made some really good tapioca! The texture is really good for making tapioca specifically, they are way too small for bubble tea.For those looking for a recipe:I took a cup of pearls and soaked them overnight in the fridge.Drain the pearls, but do not rinse them.Put 6 cups of milk (or some combinations of whatever milk you want) in a heavy bottomed pot and put the pearls in.Bring to a gentle simmer and start the timer for 60 minutes. So the tapioca wouldn't burn on the bottom, I had to babysit the pot and stir at least every 5 to 7 minutes. It's a good time to clean the kitchen, read a comic, or listen to am audiobook.I had to lower the heat from simmer to low about 40 minutes in.It'll reduce quite a bit and thickened up.Take 1 cup of sugar and 2 teaspoons of vanilla and toss into that pot.Take 4 egg yolks in a separate bowl and temper it with the tapioca mixture.Whisk the yolks into fhe pot and keep whisking for for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until whenever you feel comfortable with the egg temp.I tried it warm and it was delish, but my family liked it better cold. It makes about 9 servings. The only problem I had was that the lid broke when I screwed it back on. I just put it in another air tight container.

Didn’t turn clear
So normally tapioca beads will turn clear after boiling but these ones did not for me. I’m not sure if I just didn’t boil them for long enough or wall but they were still hard and white after boiling for the amount of time that was directed on the bottle. Maybe I should try for longer next time or maybe it’s the kind that they are I’m not sure.

Great for edible sensory activities for toddlers
These pearls are so fun to dye naturally.Tumeric powder for an amber red hue.Butterfly pea flowers for a bright blue hue, if you add lemon juice they turn purple! So fun. Just boil till clear and they are really fun and tasty!
