5 Stars - Absolutely Loving Neubria Krill Oil!
I’m really impressed with Neubria Krill Oil! I’ve been taking two capsules a day, and I can already feel the difference. My joints feel more flexible, my energy is up, and I’ve noticed a boost in my focus. Plus, it has astaxanthin, which is great for my skin and inflammation. It’s sourced from Antarctic krill, so I can also feel good knowing it’s pure and sustainable. The omega-3s (EPA & DHA) in each serving are exactly what I needed to support my heart and brain health. If you’re looking for a high-quality, easy-to-take supplement, this is definitely it! I’m giving it 5 stars and will definitely be buying again.

Out of date December 2019. I had been using Neubria Omega 3 for a good while. This batch was out of date when received. It's a shame, still jumping hoops to get refund.

Enriched Omega 3....at a price
Omega 3 is an important supplement for protecting heart, brain and eye health, there are many of these supplements out there but Krill seems to be the latest product to be used, high in pure omega 3 this is an expensive way of obtaining Omega 3 and apparently scientist are fearing that the whole eco system of Antarctica is being threatened by Krill fishing. Krill is necessary food for Whales and many other sea and land animals. Manufacturers of this supplement say it is from a sustainable source so I checked scientific research as I did not know much about Krill, there is no doubt that this fishing could prove to be extremely damaging to the environment in the future. There are cheaper and less damaging supplements to be found.

Expensive - and not particularly high concentrations of EPA and DHA...
Krill are small crustaceans - so this product is not suitable for those with fish or seafood allergies, vegetarians or vegans. It is unsuitable too for pregnant or breastfeeding women and people on Warfarin or NSAIDs. I'd recommend googling it prior to purchase if you're concerned about whether it's suitable for you.Krill Oil as a supplement delivering omega 3 has gained a currency in recent times due to concerns about mercury levels in certain marine fish yet krill itself is not controversy free due to a rise in illegal, unregulated harvesting of it in the Antarctic over the past ten years. Neubria is a UK based company producing high quality food supplements so I would assume that its claims about 'sustainability' are correct. However, harvesting of krill could over time damage the ecology of Antarctica and you may wish to be aware of this prior to purchase.I've been taking a high strength fish oil based omega 3 supplement for years. One of the most important considerations when choosing omega 3 is the formulation - the concentrations of EPA and DHA. Neubria's Krill Oil contains 178mg EPA and 82mg DHA - 260mg in total, but that's in a two capsule dose. My regular 1000mg omega 3 contains 180mg EPA per capsule and 120mg DHA so whilst I don't think the concentrations of EPA and DHA are meagre, they're certainly a lot less than in my usual brand. Neubria give 60 capsules - a one month supply for £21.27 at time of writing where my usual brand currently offers 120 capsules for £7.19. As Neubria indicate on the pack, 250mg of combined EPA and DHA daily is the minimum dose generally recommended for heart health and 250mg of DHA alone for vision and brain health - which the recommended two daily capsules of Nubria Krill Oil won't give you; they'll only provide 164mg.These may work for you - it rather depends on what benefits you hope to gain from them. In terms of heart health, the combined EPA and DHA in omega 3 can lower triglycerides implicated in heart disease and strokes and it's certainly a useful supplement, particularly if oily fish is not a part of your diet. On the positive side, these capsules are much smaller than many omega 3 variants and come in a recyclable glass bottle. You may well have good reasons why you'd prefer krill oil over fish oil but I can't escape the fact that this product is both expensive and does not contain particularly high levels of EPA and DHA. The Best Before date on those I received was the end of November 2021. One thing is for sure - if you're shopping around for food supplements it pays to do some research and don't automatically assume you'll need them as your diet may already be providing all you need.
