New York Ceramic Coffee Cup Mug

I got this to use as a little espresso cup for my Nespresso machine, and I absolutely love it! Super cute, very fun, and makes me long for NYC.

This is a really fun ceramic version of the ubiquitous NYC coffee shop cups. Every NYer who sees this cup has delighted over it. The colors seem to be exactly what they are on the paper cups and seam along one side is hilarious.It is a knock off of the licensed version that is sold at the Museum of Modern Art's shop, so I imagine that one is a bit higher quality with a price to match. There is a quality issue with this one in the form of a rough-to-the-touch, unglazed nubbin at the bottom of mine. But other than that, it looks like the real thing.Because there is no handle, it is very honestly too hot to hold when hot coffee or tea is poured into it. It requires a big time cooling off period before it can be handled without pain. Because of that, I am thinking of using mine for plants which will, I think, be just as fun

The media could not be loaded. I lived in New York for about 20 years and I have many fond memories of my time there. I picked up this cup as a little reminder of that time and to put on my desk to hold my pens and pencils. It is exactly what I wanted. The color, look and feel all remind me of the ubiquitous cups I saw in NY but with the durability and functionality of a ceramic cup. It hold my pens and adds a bit of whimsy (very consistent with my dictating taste). It did great in the dishwasher and hold up well to my daily use.

You've got to love this ceramic replica of a New York City cardboard to-go coffee cup. These are iconic NYC cups -- and every bodega, deli & street vendor serves coffee in them.They nailed all the details from the actual size to the side seam to the flawless illustration & colors. Looks exactly like the real thing. This'd make a great souvenir NYC gift...but I'm keeping it! Ha! It's microwave and dishwasher safe. Very unique. Fool all your friends.

I just moved across country to a new place and couldn't take most of my kitchen items and I am now replacing them, which is why I decided to order this super cute NYC style coffee cup. The design is really cute and clever, and immediately my partner loved it and claimed it as his, it's his favorite one now. It's not a super big cup, but he usually drinks small espressso drinks anyway, so the size works.The only real issue we've experienced so far with this coffee cup is that since it is handle free to look authentic, the heat from the coffee comes right through the ceramic and it's hard to hold onto. When the coffee is very hot, you almost need to put one of those can cozys over it or a cardboard sleeve to be able to comfortably hold onto it, but then you can't see the cute design. My only other (nitpicky-esque perhaps) complaint is that the design has a big seam where it comes together and it doesn't match up well and looks pretty obvious, but it's not terrible.

This is very cute, a ceramic reproduction of the classic/retro New York City vendor Greek-themed coffee cup. It is, to my recollection, a very faithful reproduction in size and design. It appears to be officially licensed too, as they shout out the Solo Cup company on the bottom. Per the actual cup, there is no handle here. The ceramic is relatively thick but I could imagine needing an insulator of some kind to carry this if you do use it to drink and do choose boiling hot coffee/tea.

Got this to relive memories, it’s adorable. It’s a small 10oz ceramic mug. I wish there was better heat retention with a touchable outside because this gets hot. The design is beautiful, but wish it didn’t feel ashy once it was washed.

A really nice, kitschy ceramic mug! Very nostalgic of the iconic NYC to go coffee cups. Unfortunately, I think this may have to be a display piece. I brewed some tea with herbal powder and poured it into this mug. The mug was entirely TOO HOT to hold. I almost burned my hand trying to pick it up. THANKFULLY I have extra coffee sleeves around the house. I just threw one on the mug and it made holding it tolerable. If I didn’t have those sleeves though, I would have been out of luck.So, while I love the look, build, and design of this nostalgic and iconic mug, I don’t really see myself using this as anything other than a display piece. 3.8/5 stars.
