I was skeptical about the brand.However I'm very satisfied with the quality and taste after cooking the first batch. Texture is perfect 👌

The inside plastic bag was partially opened so rice poured out into the burlap bag. Other than that, the product seemed ok. I transferred the rice to jars anyway.

I've been buying this brand of white rice for years. I love the rich flavor and smell of it. The brown is even better and in my opinion much healthier for you. (that was in summer of 2017)update - june 2018 I guess I'd had the rice a month or so and found it had little bugs in it. When I was a kid we called them weevils, but not sure that is the name. I also bought organic oats. It too had the little bugs in it. I thought maybe the bugs went from the oats to the rice. However when I opened the other bag of rice I'd bought it too had the bugs in it. So I had to throw out 20 pounds of rice and 25 pounds of oats. The only common element is that I got it all on Amazon. I'd love to buy it again, but not if it is full of bugs.update - April 2019. I don't know what happened in 2017. So many things I ordered had the little bugs in it. I had my second unopened bad of this brown rice in my pantry. I thought I had already opened it, but I hadn't. The other rice I'd opened before was white Royal Basmati rice. The unopened bag of the brown was solid and dirty looking with a funny looking mass in it. And they bag felt like it weighted more than it's orginal 10 pounds. I just threw the whole thing away. Since then I have bought another bag of white Royal Basmati (some time last year, 2018). It is find.

A quick web search reveals some common sense: "Rice in securely sealed containers keeps out unwanted moisture and eliminates the risk of infestation. Once opened, rice should be stored in a tightly closed container that keeps out dust, moisture and other contaminants." Someone should tell this to Royal rice, who ship their rice in thin plastic bags that are not only improperly sealed, but they have 18 holes in each bag. I purchased two bags, and marked the holes with toothpicks, as can be seen in my photo. Each side of each bag has nine holes in the exact same locations, which means this is done during the packing process. There is no wonder why some people receive their rice with bug infestations. Other brands of basmati rice that I have purchased, like Taj, come in properly sealed, heavy duty bags. Selling unsealed rice like this has to affect the quality and shelf life of the rice, so I don't know if I can trust the Best Buy date. If you purchase this rice, make sure to inspect it carefully, transfer it immediately to an airtight container, rinse it thoroughly before cooking, and finish the bag in a timely fashion.

I’ve been a fan of Royal Basmati for many years so thought I’d try their brown rice. Also very good.

Long Grain Brown Rice. Was delivered as advertised. I needed a healthier version of a favorite food. This fits the bill. Wife loves the unique zipper closed bag (she likes the rice too).
