Decent camera, was a pain to connect to app.
I'd been struggling to find a camera that records video upon detection without paying for cloud, and this one does! So happy about that! It's only temporary but I don't need to keep the detections long-term, and for any that I would, there's a download button. After some setup hiccups, decent camera! As of writing this review, the Camera is a bit bigger than the product photo let's on, still small but not the size of your finger either. For me the camera was a pain to set up, it wasn't recognizing the on app or code, and at first it had me connect to a network without Internet. (It's like a network the camera runs off of, I've had cameras in the past have a similar step to the process.) Once I saw that was a deadend, I figured out it wanted to connect to my main network and not the 5g network, things were fine, but it made me type in the names manually even though it would have a menu showing all the networks. So after the frustration of trying to set it up, so far camera is running great!I don't know how long the battery power is going to last, but so far as of this review it has lasted a full 24 hours.

The Little Giant of Home Security Cameras
This camera has earned the title: Little giant. It is packed with features that one would never ordinarily expect in such a tiny form factor, and at such a price point. Unboxing and holding this Vidcastive Security Camera, one is struck by just how diminutive it is; it is a cube of 1.5 inches on every side. It is housed in a sturdy glossy black plastic case, with the telltale lens sticking out. Inside the box are also a USB-A to micro SD cable, a USB-A micro SD card reader, a 3M adhesive stand for mounting the camera just about anywhere and a 1/4 inch threaded mount. I opted to use it without the stand, for maximum invisibility. The standout features of this camera are: It can shoot 19 continuous hours of video, it can record on up to a 256 GB micro SD card, it is equipped with infrared sensors, it can shoot images in 4K, its AI can differentiate between humans and animals, etc.In operation: I always QR codes when they are supplied, as they take the guesswork out of the equation. The QR code is located on page 4 of the instructions manual. Scanning it sent me to the Google Play Store to download the device software, named 'O-KAM Pro.' Annoyingly, it required my email address to register. After I entered my email address, it sent me a verification code. After I entered the verification code, I was instructed to power on the device, which began blinking blue. The app requested that I reset the device, which I did. It found my WIFI, and I entered the password. Thereafter, the app generated a QR code and asked me to hold it a few inches away from the lens of the camera. The lens scanned the QR code, and my phone was connected to the device. I was given the option to name the camera. The software is fairly intuitive to use, although it is rather intimidating at first blush, as there are so many settings. Some minor quibbles: It does not have a magnetic base, as would have made sense to stick this compact device to any metallic or magnetic surface, it uses a USB-A to micro SD cable (which is dated) instead of a USB-A to USB-C cable and there appears to be no way to use it with Google Assistant (or Siri for Apple users). On the other hand, this device impresses with all of the previously described features. It grants users a three-day cloud looping without a subscription (and more with a subscription). The indicator light can be turned off, for more covert use. It offers the ability to use the device while it is charging. The owner can provide other people with a QR code, so that they can view the camera as well. It offers intelligent motion detection which can differentiate between humans and other animals. The volume of the microphone can be adjusted.N.B. This camera uses a micro SD card, not an SD card as advertised.

An OK camera but not as good as I had hoped
Neat little camera, image quality is good, battery life did not come close to the 10 hours noted in the description. I did not try the length of standby time after the lack of normal run time. I got about 3 hours before the battery ran out. I did not have motion turned on, it was just live streaming. Setting up the camera had it issues as the app does require the use of various QR codes to get all the items working. Cloud storage is optional and I would not use it in any fashion. It does work, is a bit of a pain t set up and s bigger then the advertisement leads you to believe.I will most likely relegate this to a wired device instead of relying on its battery. Here is how I rate items:5 Stars = Exceeds all expectations, A definite buy! (Very Rare)4 Stars = Very good find, you should definitely give it a shot.3 Stars = It works and functions as advertised.2 Stars = A little scary, possibly OK, it may work out.1 Stars = Avoid this product, not worth the effort.

Chicken Coop Cam
I've got this camera set up in my chicken coop so I can check in on the chickens while I'm away. It came in very handy last week when I was out of town for several days. Late morning I checked the video feed and saw that the coop door hadn't opened to let the chickens out. They had no food or water in the coop so it was a good thing I was able to check in. I had a friend stop by and let them out, but I would have had no idea if it wasn't for the camera. The app that is recommended for this camera works well. I do wish that I could have more control over what camera functions are accessible through sharing the feed (such as not allowing audio, intercom feature, etc.), but it's not a deal breaker. The "night vision" feature of the camera works very well. And it has been able to stay connected to my weak wifi signal out in the coop.

Not a bad camera but wish it had USB C and a wider field of view
So this camera has a lot of cool features in a small package - with motion detection and IR for being able to record only when there is motion regardless of day and night. The video quality is not bad, considering the sensor size and the lens. I do wish it had USB C as I think any device shipping in 2025 should have it not Micro USB. It is a little bigger than I thought but is hefty, likely due to the battery. Overall, not a bad small camera so would recommend if you need something in this form factor.
