Very happy that I found this. No more Slamming.
Someone hit the side of my tailgate lightly. It slightly dented the point of impact but broke the plastic piece completely. There was no assisted open at that point. SLAM... every time I opened the tailgate.I looked at replacing whole hinge part (66102-0C021). I found it at $40+shipping online, $62 at a local dealer but out of stock, or $76 at a dealer further away.That's when I found this! This took me a while 2 min to put on. Remove the tailgate, remove the broken plastic, insert new part, tap it in with a dead-blow mallet, and reinstall tailgate.

Perfect fit
The first time my bushing broke I replaced the entire hinge because that was the only option at the time. I'm glad someone finally came up with this aluminum one since my bushing broke again on my new hinge. Should be good for ever now.

This worked perfectly on my truck (2019 Tundra Platinum 5.7L 2WD). Dealer ship charged me around $600, I didn't fix it bc it was too expensive. This fixed my problem with only $37. Thank you so much.

Cures bushing issues!
This is a well made part that will fix the hinge bushing issue on your tundra. I used some 400 grit paper to get just a bit looser fit on the tailgate side for easier removal . Also being it is aluminum i would recommend a coating of grease to prevent corrosion.

Finally!
This bushing fit very snugly, and seems to have solved the problem. I needed to skim the male end slightly with a grinder to get it to seat fully into the tailgate side. It appears very robust compared to the original plastic part.
