NOW Foods Supplements, Methyl Folate 5000 mcg, Superior Bioavailability, 50 Veg Capsules

My doctor gave me a genrtic test to see if I was a "non-methylator" The test did show a gene mutation that makes it so that the folic acid in my diet can't be methylated by my body. I needed to take it in a pr-methylated form in order for my body to asorb it. I started at at very low dose 7.5mcg. I've had depression/anxiety for years but no one ever thought to do a genetic test to see if I had a mutation, It's really common in the population. My psych NP raised the dose to 15,000mch/day. Eventually I'll be bumped up to 20,000mcg which she feels is a more usual dose with people with the Mthfr gene mutation. tolerate it well. I do feel better, less depressed and "moody. So I can say I like this brand and the affordable price point.I happy with my purchase and will continue to repurchase as needed.

Good value product. Naturopath put me on a combination methyl/b-12 formula after diagnosing MTHFR genetic mutation. It was a well reputed, but very expensive brand. For me it works out better to use this product in 5k dose - it’s effective, cheaper and a smaller capsule.

I Absolutely love these! I take them daily as part of my routine. I used to take folic acid supplements for a long while and than decided to give these a try....and Soooo glad I did because they are so much better (at least for me). They absorb better which helps a great deal when taking any supplements. I will definitely be sticking with these as a permanent like I have for at least a few + months now.

My body does not absorb nutrients well and this has helped. I started out with only 1mg. with no noticeable difference but this 5mg (5000mcg) strength is helping. The only draw back I have encountered is that I can not take it with my Potassium Bicarbonate and Magnesium-Transporter pills but must take this first with my meal and then an hour later take the other two supplements so my stomach is not upset for several hours. I have never had any negative reactions with NOW brand supplements, and they have always been reliable in their ingredients.

I took these along with my prenatal vitamins. The pills are easy to swallow and no strange aftertaste. I did conceive while taking these pills the month I started these.

Cant really say at this point if its helping or not but I will say same brand, same product is considerably more expensive to purchase at the one place I found locally. Will continue to purchase on Amazon. Yes it's easy to swallow, has no smell, was recommended by my doctor.

I like it very small capsule

Helps prevent canker sores. Tastes a little nasty and has a bad after taste but cheaper than my prescription folic acid. Will purchase again!
