Grains of Paradise - Plastic Jar (holds 3.7 Oz. [ 104.9 Grams]) - KOSHER

This spice was common from the middle ages and earlier - for good reason! It provides a nice spicing, tasty - need to taste it to describe it. Lately, I've developed an intolerance to regular black peppers, this does not trigger that reaction.

The flavor is interesting and can easily be matched with a mix of black pepper, Szechuan peppercorns (spicy pine aroma), and cardamom. The heat is way more persistent and intense than black pepper; more like that of capsicum peppers, ie. cayenne pepper.Annoyingly, the provided jar is short and large diameter so does not fit on my spice rack.Using the above spice mixtures would be more versatile than buying this fairly expensive spice. Likely all 3 could be bought for less than this bottle, and they would store in your spice rack.

These seeds have a complex, peppery flavor with hints of warm spices like cardamom and ginger.

Great flavor when ground in a wooden mortar and pestle. I use it in my lentil soup mix and the grains of paradise adds the exact spice needed.

Product is good quality, but add misrepresented the amt that would be sent. Add said 4 oz product, but only 2oz received.
