Does it switch on multiple items at once? eg to watch tv i have to switch on the tv, the sky box and the amp - can i do this with one button?

No. Each device uses a different code to switch to and from standby . Sky remotes manage to use one button to activate the both Sky box and the TV. This is achieved by changing the code depending on how long the button is pressed. The URC has no such buttons.

Of the code number for you tv is not on list follow the instructions to set it up manually. It may take many attempts. Remember you always have to press tv before the power button. This is a good remote but needs the correct order always to be.followed.

As this device claims to operate a dvd player were are the skip forward and back buttons as these are essential for dvd operation

the buttons are there, play,pause.f/forward,rewind but you must have the correct code for the DVD player to work correctly

Does this work with a panasonic hd recorder

It's a 1 for All so is a universal remote control. Just need to set it by following instructions in the manual which is very clear and simple. It just took me few minutes to connect my PanasonicTV. It has TV,SAT,AMP and DVD settings option on it so I guess it should be ok. I hope this helps
