Better price
Work as well, if not better than the ones direct from Purewick. Although expensive, these are considerably cheaper than buying direct from Purewick

Works as advertised but pretty pricey
These external catheters are a great idea. You need to use them in conjunction with a low volume suction pump with tubing and a catch canister. They make life for the bed-ridden much more tolerable as they cut down on diaper changes. They are good for about 8 to 12 hours so you need to use 2 to 3 a day if you have a heavy wetter. You can get away with 1 a day if the person using them doesn't go frequently. At roughly $8 per catheter...you can be the judge on if they are worth it. To me, that seems a bit expensive but it ends up being a quality-of-life issue. Is $550 to $600 a month worth it to you or not?

Product doesn’t work nine or 10 times.
This is the second box of this product that I have ordered the first one I bought was it the typical price of $200 for 30 pieces then I found it from the Bard company for $169 and I thought $30 discount great. there seems to be a problem with the catheters they don’t absorb and therefore don’t work to wick urine away as it should. Not a good value for the discount if they don’t work, I would recommend paying $200 to get the ones that work.

A God sent
Sure beats lying in a pool of your own urine & much much better than an internal catheter. Only very pricey. I wrote to my Congressman about the fact that the pump & the replacement wicks were not covered by Medicare, but all the external catheters that men use are covered. If you feel the same way (at over $200 a case) I encourage you to write to your congressman too.

Not quite the quality it used to be
Top sample is the older Purewick catheter. Bottom two are the new ones. They don't work as well as the old ones. Note how the new catheters have a backward bend and the wick sticks out. They don't conform as well to female anatomy as the old ones. The latex shell seems thinner and doesn't hold the wick as well. The wick is lumpy and have lot of airspace underneath which interferes with collection when patient is not lying perfectly flat on their back.
