perfect fit and works well
I’m very pleased with the Samsung DA97-15217D Ice Maker Assembly! It’s a genuine OEM part that was a perfect replacement for my old, malfunctioning ice maker. The installation was relatively straightforward (I’m not super handy, but with the right tools, I was able to do it myself), and it fit perfectly into my Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker works flawlessly now, producing ice quickly and efficiently. I was a bit hesitant at first, but this replacement part has restored my fridge to its full functionality. No more problems with ice production, and the ice cubes come out just as they should—firm and clear! The quality of the part is excellent, and it feels sturdy and well-made. It’s great to know I’m using an original Samsung part, which gives me confidence in its longevity. If you're looking to replace your ice maker, this is definitely a solid choice and well worth the investment.I highly recommend the Samsung DA97-15217D Ice Maker Assembly if you need to replace your ice maker—it’s a reliable and easy fix!

Works great in our Samsung refrigerator!
As most who own a Samsung from a few years back, these icemakers located in the upper refrigerator compartments have issues with freezing up and some have slushy ice and small cubes as well as other issues so after a few years of using a blow dryer every few days, we decided to do what others have done and replace the guts in there as well as seal up the inside seams with silicone.Glad we did! So far, this thing is making ice and no issues so far!We replaced the auger assembly as well as the ice maker assembly and sealed the places on the inside when all was removed and accessible. I still expect to have freeze ups but not as often as we were and so far, that has held true.We also replaced the filter at the same time to get full water pressure. If you are struggling with these Samsung fridges issues, look up on YouTube for the vids on replacement first then go from there. A few years back we had to take the inside back cover off every few weeks due to the fan in there getting covered in ice and stopping. Fixed that by adding a stick-on defrost heat pad that was bigger than the one in there. Wired it in to the existing one and no issues since!I hope Samsung has fixed these issues since than as this is a big expense to have to deal with these but the rest of the fridge works great so no complaints there!

Easy Install and Working Great
Bought this ice maker, because the ice from my original ice maker tasted awful; ice tray was covered with black film that I could not remove. Desperately in need of a replacement I ordered this one as it was a Samsung OEM part.I have only had this replacement for a week but so far I am extremely happy with the purchase. Other than the color being ivory instead of white, it appears to be exactly the same as my original ice maker. Install was easy and was making ice within a few hours of the install. No longer have bad tasting ice so the family is extremely happy.

This fixed my icemaker! (For about 6 months)
I was having the exact same issue as everyone else, icemaker frosts/freezes up and no ice is made. The fridge is out of warranty and after contacting Samsung about the issue with my RF28HFEDBSR/AA, they refused to lift a finger to address the issue. They'd be happy to send someone out though, at my cost. This will be the last Samsung product that I ever purchcase, of any kind. Two weeks ago I installed this new icemaker modual that I purchased from Amazon, DA97-15217D (the old modual was a DA82-15217A) along with the drip clip kit, DA82-02367A. My fridge did not have any clips of any sort installed before this. I also sealed up the icemaker compartment with silicone. In the two weeks the icemaker has worked as intended, no frost, no icing up, just ice cubes in the bin where they belong. We'll see how long that lasts, maybe I'll get lucky?EDIT...Well it seems as if my luck has run out. My icemaker is back to it's old tricks. The repair that I outlined above worked for about 6 months before reverting back to frosting/freezing up and having to be defrosted when it stops making ice. I did learn a new trick though, forced defrost. There's a 'secret menu' that allows you to set the fridge to forced defrost that will help melt some of the frost in the ice compartment. I had to run this mode twice before it helped clear the frost buildup. I still had to use my heat gun and scraper to clear all of the ice but the defrost mode certainly helped. Do a search on youtube for how to enter this mode. The instructions there are pretty clear except on how to exit the forced defrost mode. You don't have to do anything, this mode will terminate once it's done. Depending on how much defrosting needs to be done. The first time that I ran it it took ~45 mins, the second ~20 mins.Samsung is junk, do NOT buy any of their fridges!I finally fixed our Samsung icemaker!!!! Yep, I bought an LG fridge and got rid of the thorn in my side.
