Cards against Humanity is made by a totally different company. There IS an adult version of apples to apples.

What is the difference between the standard and this "Party Box" version? Thanks!

I am not really sure what the difference is, I have the Party Box (which has 756 red nouns and 252 green adjectives) so I assume the standard box would have fewer cards. I can tell you I have played many, many games with my daughters/family and this is our favorite. I have bought it for gifts as well. Easy to learn no matter what the age. It is especially fun with different age groups playing because each generation has a different frame of reference. We laugh and enjoy each and every moment. Can't go wrong with Apples to Apples!

Why is this called the "Family Edition"?

I believe it's because there are no off-color cards. It's appropriate for anyone to play. There are a few different versions, including one that's a little more "adult"...I've never actually seen that one or played it, so I can't speak about the content. Anyway, the family version is a lot of fun for any age group and its easy to learn. Also, even though the cards are "all-age appropriate", depending on the cards you choose to play it can still get a little raunchy...but it will go right over the kids heads. Hope this helps!
