Q: What size sheets does this use? And I'm assuming it should be tracing sheets?

It traces onto almost any regular 8.5" x 11" paper- Any regular looseleaf or copy paper. That's the coolest thing: You do NOT NEED copy paper. As long as the paper the image is on is thin enough (ie-newspaper, comic books, any original image on printer paper and many other things work fine.) But for photographs or heavy glossy magazine images, those you may need to photocopy first (even if you did use tracing paper- the original has to be thin enough for light to get through.). But most any regular paper, you can just put blank copy paper or thin 'student grade' sketchbook paper over it and trace- you don't need tracing paper. Because you can trace directly onto nice paper, you can use comics or a flower book or images you've printed off the computer etc- almost any paper that isn't too thick or glossy- trace just the outline of the image onto it- and then take that off the tracing pad and color it in any way you like. You can use the light-pad and and trace onto regular paper - to literally make your own coloring book with colored pencils or markers or watercolor. You don't need to try to color in on thin tracing paper.

Q: Would this work for a 6 yo who loves to draw and is very creative?

Most definitely!!!! I have purchased them also for 10, 13 and 15 year olds. This helps brighten their creativity. To be honest I am 61 years old and I love it too. A 6 year old will be able to do what ever he/she wants.

Super fun toy

Overall this is just a fantastic toy. My daughter has absolutely loved using this and it gives her the ability to make any scene that she wants. So it encourages imagination, drawing skills, and coloring skills. Overall this product keeps your occupied for quite a long time and is able to make her focused. Just a great product would easily buy again.
