Hard to find.
Love this stuff. I interchange this compost starter with the plant starter jobe’s makes. Same soil amendments as the fertilizer too.

Great Product But Bottom Of The Pit Seller
This product works great, safely helps with the decomposing of a wide variety of organics, yard waster leaves/grass/ dead branches etc, food waste, old wood lumber! Its just a real shame the ridiculous time it took to finally get product ACTUALLY SHIPPED, "the bogus shipping info supplied, I'd buy the product again BUT NOT FROM THIS VENDOR EVER AGAIN, NOR WILL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!

Perfect for compost for a garden
Used this stuff from last fall to this spring on my grass clipping, mulched leaves, and even my chipped up branches. Used the compost for a 18 inch base for my garden. I have tomato plants that are 10 feet tall. Will need to rethink my garden next year because the tomatoe plants have gotten so tall the rest of the garden didn't get much sun.

Smelly at first, but results are in!
This stuff has a strong odor, aaaalmost like manure but not quite. It’s easy to add to my tumbler, I added a bit of water as instructed, and the inside of my compost tumbler was WARM in the middle of the first frost in central Tx. In 30-40 degree weather it was freezing and thawing, and just sitting. Added more browns and this stuff during Back to back 20 degree weather and my tumbler is giving off heat! I know that’s a sure fire sign of things continuing to break down as they should. Great product. And I’ve hardly made a dent in the bag, so I know this will last me for while. A good, inexpensive solution to get some compost ready for spring

Open the bag outside!
There were a bunch of loose pellets of the product in the Amazon bag. I opened the shipping bag in my kitchen and didn't realize I spread the pellets all over on my way outside. I don't know if the bag has a hole in it but I keep finding the pellets all over. This stuff seems to help turn my scraps into compost in my plastic rotating compost bins.

Wastes are composting, so it seems to work
Seems to work better than the last compost accelerator I tried. So it must be doing its job.

When You Feel the Need for Speed...
If you are blessed with lots of composting bins, space, energy and/or time, you probably don't need this. But if you want to maximize the amount of compost you get from a small space in a short time without regularly turning your pile over (at *least* once per week), this stuff will give your pile's composting action a nice boost.I have been composting without this stuff for years -- with limited results. I have a large plastic compost bin that doesn't get turned as often as it should due to the work involved. I can't do a proper job of stirring the pile by inserting fork and/or shovel (through the undersized fill hole) into the bin, so I must move the bin, sift the usable compost out, and return the remains to the bin. Since buying this Compost Starter, after adding several layers of material to the bin, I sprinkle just about a tablespoon of this over the top and lightly water it in. It has noticeably increased the amount of usable compost I can sift out of the bin every few weeks. If you turn your pile often (via tools or tumbling composter), you will likely see limited benefit in using this, beyond getting your batch started. The regular turning of the pile will speed up the distribution of helpful organisms through your pile -- and they will work, reproduce, and work some more at amazing speed. However, if you are just lumping new material regularly onto your pile(s), it can take quite some time for those little workers to work their way to the top. That's why it helps to turn it over or mix it up regularly. If you can't find the time or it is just too much work and you want to speed up the process anyway, adding a bit of this occasionally helps get the action going in the upper reaches of the pile.Bottom line: if you want to get the most out of your composting without putting in the maximum effort to keep turning it or mixing it up, this product will help.
