A great addition to the home library
A must have desk reference because the field of psychiatry has been dramatically changed since the early 80s abandoning Adler and Jung - I still advocate Carl Jung as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist and his analytical psychology. - Jung's concepts of archetypes and on collective unconscious should not be overlooked or rejected - an informative book

Main papers
Great book, especially the primary psychological papers, apart from that I feel Jung does to many dream comparisons with alchemy even though he does it to make a point, the point being the establishing of proof of his theory of the “collective unconscious”

Nothing beats the classics
I recommend this book to clients interested in learning about Jungian thought. Just the introduction by Joseph Campbell is worth the skimpy price of admission and the depth and breath of Jung's ideas remain as powerful and intriguing today as they were when he first wrote more than 80 years ago. Concepts such as the Self, the collective unconscious, shadow, and introvert-extrovert remain great tools for self-awareness. Because it can be read in sections I often go back to it for reference and I find that every time time I do so I am rewarded with a new, deeper, understanding. Warning! You may have to use more than two neurons to digest this but the effort will be worth it!

A great collection
A great introduction to the mind-blowing mind of Carl Jung. The Introduction by Joseph Campbell is itself worth the price of the book.

Great summary of Jung's Work
I discovered this book after reading "The Power of Myth" by Joseph Campbell. Carl Jung's works are well known and well respected throughout the world, and this book is a great summary of Jung's ideas and discoveries. A great read for anyone who is searching for a spiritual experience in life.

A strong foundation before the storm
This is a wonderful/affordable one-stop-shop to get acquainted with Jung's thought. I purchased it in particular for "Answer to Job." It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who's had difficulty with the Biblical writing. This compilation is worth owning for this small portion alone. In reference to "the storm," you're probably aware of the pending publication of Jung's final work "The Red Book." From what I gather, it will probably be better understood after some initial preparation. The Portable Jung may be such a preparation ... enjoy!

A metapsychological errand
The collection is extremely valuable simply on account of being a rare opportunity to look though not too deeply, into the mind of one of the true giants of modern psychology. For me particularly, his scholarly disposition on "the difference between Eastern and Western thinking" is an intellectual tour de force.

very helpful with everything Jungan i could ask for
I really like how the book is organized it really helped me grasp everything better. it is kind of small and being such a heavy reading type i can't read as much as if it was a bit bigger and more comfortable.
